Well, thankfully, I see them regularly around there, so you guys can fight over it, but I know what I have been offered, sold two for, and had a couple buddies sell their's quickly for. Also, some guy in the FB gear exchange just offered $2500 to buy one, and then bought one for it. :)
To remember a quote...
" A bunch of fools and their money..."

Or something like that. Apparently whomever bought those that you talk about don't give a shit about getting ripped off. Good for your friends though, make the most from those idiots.
I guess.

Well, I guess they vary widely, but all I know is what I have seen several times now. Either way, boost that bitch and that is one of my all time favorite metal tones.

what would be considered a fair price on a Rev F Dual???
Ha, it depends. Per this thread if you are selling its $2500 but if you are buying its $900. To be fair, I'd bet some of the sellers have no idea what a Rev F vs a Rev ZZ is (and I'll be honest I don't either). They just know its a Duel Rec and they tend to go fairly cheap for what they are.

I do know that if I had one and someone offered $2500...I wouldn't have one anymore.

Anybody paying more than $1,500 for a Recto, chrome/blackface or not, is a downright fool. I suppose some folks can't resist their shiny objects.

No way any recto sold for that much. The only way I could see it would be if it was a prototype or something very rare. Or an SLO :D

The Russians have something to do with the high price on Rectifiers.

Don’t worry. Bueller is on the case.

Tremonti also owns old blackface/chrome chassis Rev D and Rev F heads of mine. I believe it was my old Rev F he was using the last time he was in Baltimore.

Over 2k for a Rev F is nuts sorry .....I bought a Rev F triple in excellent condition for $1400 a while back and sold it around the same price . I thought that was normal if not a little high . I guess I could see Mark Tremonti possibly spending that much just cause he can and maybe if you wait long enough for an uninformed buyer you can get more than $1400 but over 2k , really ?

I saw a mint chrome chassis Rev F sell for something like 4000 plus dollars on Reverb.

Lol well this thread is still alive. I have an early tremoverb rev g, mark transformers already. Only want the rev f to see if its really all that different. I wasnt planning on paying over 1300 anyways (for a blackface chrome chassis). Thanks guys, no need to fight

No fighting here. The reality that nobody selling a Rev F is going to mention is that all 2 channel Dual Rectifiers have "Mark" transformers. The first ones (up to mid '93) have the same transformers at Mark IVAs and maybe late Mark III 100 watt heads. Every one after has the same transformers as Mark IVB amps.

There's nothing special at all about early transformers and they were discontinued for a reason: they had a habit of blowing up with 16 ohm loads! How's that for magic Rev F sauce? Nobody would be getting $2k plus if they called the transformers what they are: undersized 100 watt transformers.

Oh how “libtarded” of you.

Mesa > Soldano.

Mesa boogie is in it for the long run. Soldando is packing up it’s bags and taking their big trannies with them. No more big trannies for you. Although you should have no problem finding another big trannie out there in San Francisco.

You could always send in your amp to boogie for a full service and have it modded to any revision you want. Service is like $150 and mod is probably like $200. People spend so much for mods these days and boogie still does it dirt cheap.

The board revision is what makes the difference, not the transformers.

I can't believe rev Fs are selling for over $2k. Doesn't add up for me. That said, if true, what's the value of my rev C? Lol.

When Reinhold Bogner modified my personal Dual Rectifier Solo Head in 1994, he took one look at the transformers and said "these are like child's toy" before chucking them in the garbage. He happened to have a weird Mark amp with 6 power tubes that he couldn't fix, so he pulled the trannies from there, upped the plate voltage to 550DCV (à la the Shiva) and turned the amp into a one-of-a-kind firebreather.

When I picked the amp up from him, he told me with a knowing wink "I call this the GLADIATOR mod....because it kicks ass in sandals." Now whenever my partner says I'm playing too loud, I crank the master, strap on my wireless unit, march into the kitchen and chug drop D chords while shouting "are you not impressed?!"

They aren't. At least the smart ones aren't paying that. There's one on Reverb right now for 1375.......

Even that might be too much.

Seems like the biggest premium is being paid for blackface/chrome chassis models, which do hit $1800 on Reverb sometimes if they're minty. The only one in that neighborhood sold on eBay lately was a rackmount chrome chassis.

... with my favorite moldy chassis mod (see the spotty looking layer of what appears to be dust... that’s mold). No way in hell that’s coming home to me. PU. Trash the head box, scrub down the chassis, and that aroma and the allergies it causes will linger. No thanks. The nice minty, near perfect chrome chassis models would be my pick.

Yeah, the 2K mark is just not selling from what I've seen except for the Rev C that occasionally shows up. There was a mint F Racto on Reverb that sat and sat for 1800, and he ended up dropping it to 1400 and it still sat and sat........

I almost went up to Mpls to grab an F triple for 1200. It was on Craigslist for 2 wks at 1200. Pretty sure a fellow RTer bought it, so it might have gone for 1100? Who knows.....good for him. Cool amp.
But these 2K Rev Fs are fantasy when it comes to what actual sales are on Reverb and Ebay, or local....facts are what facts are. Anyone paying that much doesn't care how much they are spending apparently..

Looks like a Rev G with Chrome and Black sold recently.

Price seem ridiculous.
