Good studio experiences with any amps for heavy thick modern hard rock kinda stuff?
Something with relatively low hiss that records well and sounds huge. Thanks for ideas.

Herbert, Dmoll, VH4 are cool - the Hagen is more modern sounding than the rest of the Diezel line.

Mesa Triple Rec is also one of my favorites for big modern tone, but boosting with an OD808 or similar is a must to get the more modern tightness.
What's your budget for what you're after - could maybe try an eq pedal for your Shiva to bump up the lows. I love my Bogner Shiva for hard rock tones, but it's out of its element doing modern metal.

Something in the Mesa or Diezel line sounds about right. I have thought about checking out the Lil Fokker eventually. I love the Shiva, but was thinking of trying something just a little bit heavier unboosted. Not a 20Th Shiva for sure...the KT88's weren't my thing when I had one. Maybe along the lines of an Uberschall...I've owned some before, but never had the chance to record with one. Budget would be around $2000 or lower. I've even considered getting a little Fender DRRI to shove some pedals into as an option.

I honestly think mark 5 sounds pretty good when recording if you set it up right and the bogner ecstasy is also pretty awesome my personal favorite is the two channel dual rectifier revision F or a rack mount version G which is just glorious for tracking thick modern heavyness

I know, I talk about them too much...but a VHT Deliverance will rival many of the amps mentioned. The 120 is more modern and thick. A lot cheaper than any Diezel.

I've been tinkering with a Savage 120 lately since listening to a few bands who use em and it's got some brootz... I'm just now getting back into tube stuff.

ooo that's a good one too or an engl fireball

Diezel Herbert. If you want modern high fi sound that is super polished Diezel is the way to go.

I'm not really into the modern thing, but I played a PRS Archon today that sounded like a very BIG Soldano SLO but tighter.

Lol so many hate this amp but I actually liked it ,when I played it ,i thought it had a Bogner Twin Jet vibe, it could get very modern thick and had a ton of chunk

Doug Sewell knows what he is doing in spite of Paul's best efforts to derail him.

A Friedman BE, SS, or PT100 are my favorite amps for this sound. Also, on the cheap, a Peavey 6534+
