Not my most exspensive guitar and not my highest quality guitar but easily the most fun to play. I love how harmonics just jump of the guitar. So comfortable and the Stephens Extended cutaway allows for total access to the highest frets. This guitar is awesome!!

Always been interested, man. I love his work, and those guitars are cool as hell.

If I could afford one yes! I did get a custom axe built a few years back with N4 neck specification and ebony board and it is awesome and feels awesome.

My cousin has a killer N4 with a heavily Birdseye'd maple neck. I was tempted to buy it but he wants a pretty enough penny for it. It's the only one I've ever seen with an all-maple neck.

Cool!

On a side note, I've rarely found the most expensive guitars I've had or played are the best playing guitar or have the best tone.
The build quality is mostly better but I haven't found that always translates to tone.

A few months after I bought mine I noticed a few frets starting to lift. I sent it back and they chipped a bit of the paint in the back of the guitar. To addinsult to injury they claimed they got it that way. I was pissed for quite awhile. But here is the kicker... the guitar plays great, sounds fantastic with my FJA 5150II and is so comfortable... I can't help but want all models of N4.

I've never owned one but knew somebody who did and played it quite a bit in the early/mid-90's. It didn't wow me but I liked it well enough. Had it been mine, the bridge pickup would have changed...it was a bit too "ice-picky" for my tastes.

Into my Marshall it is on the bright thin side. Into my FJA 5150 it's harmonically rich and clear.

Mine was awesome. They are definitely very high quality guitars. Sounds like you just got a lemon.

Therein lies my issue then...played it through an old JMP and a Fender Tone Master. I'd love to try one out through my Marsha or a Bogner XTC...I think it would match up well to those amps.

Nuno did Waiting for the Punchline through a Fender. That is my favorite sounding Extreme disc.

Wasn't the JP your favorite last week ?
The EBMM JP is my best guitar from a quality standpoint. I've played the hell outta that guitar since I've owned it. However the N4 is the one I'm playing most recently

I used to own a Bogner XTC 101b but didn't have the N4 at that time. But yeah I'm thinking they would be a killer match.

This is how I feel about my guitars. My "favorite" ebbs and flows depending on mood and style I am playing at that time.

BTW, your N4 is killer. I have always liked those guitars.

I have owned 3 lefty N4's (2 Vintage and one Paddy, one of the Vintage's I bought, sold and then bought again before trading it :() Man I miss those guitars. I need to try and find another lefty but they are hard to come by.

Love my N4, I have the padauk model.
Swapped out the Bill Lawrence for a real Bill and Becky pickup. Sounds much better to my ears.
