After seeing the thread earlier about train wreck demos, I was curious who stands out in the vast wasteland of YouTube.

I could use some recommendations on YouTube channels who you think delivers quality info on gear and guitars. Reviews, rundowns, etc. Any suggestions given would be greatly appreciated.

That Pedal Show - I like these guys. Good players, nice banter, and super informative

Pete Thorn - A+++

Philip McKnight - guitar channel, and super informative from a dealers perspective
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEzJtF ... ZW7K9JyXmw

Warren Huart - tons of good recording info here

Ryan Bruce - was the first channel I started watching. He has a particular modern style, but he does good sounding stuff.

Big Hairy Guitars - I'm gonna squeeze my channel in here. Probably too many Friedman reviews ;) , but I hope it's informative and fun.

Pete Thorn, Fluff (Ryan Bruce) and Ola Englund are the first three that popped to my mind immediately!

If I'm researching a piece of gear......most recently an Eric Clapton Strat and Richie Kotzen Tele, I watch everybody's demo to get an average read on things. Then I make up my own mind.

That pedal Show is great but too much goofing off, philosophizing, etc. Often times they don't know how a pedal functions. Musictoyz has some great demos too.

A fully mic'd setup with speaker simulations instead of a real amp/ speaker is useless to me. A guy playing tunes to a backing track is useless to me.

JerEvil's channel
Pro Guitar Shop
Andertons and Chapman
a few others

Not gear but for creative live music, Live from Daryls House

Same.

Fluff is #1 to me. He plays what I like and demos how I want to see a demo. He plays some good stuff then goes into the real life applications. On/off no here is my demo and I am a Master and have a degree for engineering. Just straight up real life applications.

Awesome suggestions, thank you! I agree re: Pete Yorn, he does an excellent job delivering stuff that matters. I'm building a list on Google Sheets to track these suggestions, looking forward to checking out all of the suggestions listed.

Keep'em coming if there are others that haven't been mentioned.

I'm a big fan of Knobs' demos since he uses a range of settings, is informative, doesn't talk at all, and makes something interesting to look at while listening.

Currently, I don't do reviews much, but I have been focusing on "how to get so-and-so's tone" with extreme accuracy (takes lots of research and fine tuning) on my YouTube channel:

So far I have:

EVH

Boston (Tom Scholz / Barry Goudreau) w/out backing

Boston (Tom Scholz / Barry Goudreau) with backing

Working on Randy Rhoads currently. And there will be more...

That's a set of pure German silver spoons from 1867. Very rare and they reallly sing.

I would have to say this is one of the most unique channels I've seen on YouTube. Intriguing style for sure.

Pete Thorn and That Pedal Show are the only ones I watch regularly.
