Hi all,
Thinking about starting to solder cables myself from bulk cable wire and connectors. What manufacturers and which products from them are You using? Mogami? Evidence Audio? Neutrik? Switchcraft? Different cable thickness for wiring up racks and pedalboards?

I have terrible RF interference where I live.. For some reason George L’s .115 are the only ones that cut out the noise completely for me. Also no soldering needed. You can make a cable in a couple minutes.. just buy the spool & .115 connectors. I do have a shit load of Mogami gold & platinums tho. They’re solid but Jumperz are pretty much the same & cheaper.

Bob Bradshaw seems to be using Mogami 2524 for long runs (guitar to amp etc) and 2319 on pedalboards/racks.

I like Squareplug for pedalboards and Amphenol for guitar cables. Mogami cable is some of the best cable out there, and what I'll likely buy when I run out of what I have.

Sommer Spirit XXL or Klotz La Grange for cables (low capacity) and especially the Sommer is nicely flexible.
Fits Neutrik jacks well; for live shows use a Silent plug on your guitar's end, so that you don't have to worry about muting your amp everytime you swap guitars during a gig.
All available at Thomann.
Cordial and Tasker are good cables as well, FWIW.
Mogami meh (a bit stiff, I only use a few short ones for pedal boards), besides more difficult to come by in Europe.

Great info, thanks! Mogami can be bought from Banzai Music in Ger…

Mogami and squareplug have been my go-to lately. love the smaller profile!

For instrument and long runs, Gotham GAC-1 UltraPro + Neutrik plugs. Not a fan of Mogami because it exhibits a lot of triboelectric noise.

I leave cables to the Professionals.

exactly what I use ........ with all Squareplugs on the pedal board .... Neutriks on everything else

@Jakem nobody asked- what are you using them for?.. My cables get used in stationary/studio conditions… If you’re talking gig conditions completely ignore my post… you’ll need something much more robust..
