I'm building a super strat at the moment. It was an experiment to basically get the best quality pieces for the cheapest prices, with the ultimate goal of having a Charvel usa/jap quality guitar. Was aiming for 350-400 and I think I'm going to nail that goal... but I'm now to the pickup portion of the build.

My go to is a PRS 250 treble in the bridge.. I've been through the full gambit of duncan, gibson, emg, some Lace, Dimarzio, and anything else you can think of. However, I haven't had a super strat in about 10 years.. I'll probably go with a SD EVH or find an old hand wound JB for it.. just to keep theme of guitar rooted in 80's shred.

I'm curious about the Bareknuckle rebel's though.. anyone every play them in a ash bodied strat?

Whats your go to humbucker???

For quite a while now I've been grabbing my AFWAYU loaded les Paul. That thing just sounds fat and right.

2nd fave, which I have in acouple guitars, are JB's. I run them with no tone pots and 250 or 300k volume pots. I don't like them with 500k volumes or with tone pots. I think that's why the catch a lot of slack.

JB
Black Dog
Holy Diver
Nazgul

Haven't tried the Pegasus yet, but based on clips and reviews, I'll probably like it.

I love the Duncan Distortion and lately really been digging the Nazgul. Focused and angry

JB, but I want to try the EVH Frankie and Seymour Custom 78

I love the PRS DGT and Suhr DSV for all around use. I also dig and use the Tremonti Treble (which is the same pickup as the SC250 Treble, btw).

Tone Zone for me but I have Mahogony/Maple.

Tone Zone darkened it up like I needed to. Otherwise I would say JB however, I have never tried but always wanted some Bareknuckles.

That would make sense why I like them so much.

BKP Nailbomb

I've had Rebel Yells in similar guitars as well and would recommend the NB over them for heavy 80's tones for sure. More organic, more personality and more versatile IMO. Plus RY's are already pretty bright which might be overkill in your guitar specifically.

I'm playing nailbombs at the moment. Really digging them, but playing different pickups in a completely different guitar lately. Has had a massive impact on the tones I get out of my VH4.
Don't really get the chance to demo different pickups in different guitars, but they make a massive difference to the output signal from the guitar. I almost can't say which pickups I prefer because there's an overwhelming number of options, even before choosing amps and EQing them.
