I ordered a Dirty Shirley head through Brad a couple of weeks ago...It shipped from Tone Merchants on 9/5 and arrived at Fed Ex later that evening, scheduled for a 9/11 delivery to Wisconsin...Unfortunately, it hasn't been scanned since.

I called Fed Ex on the evening of 9/11 and opened a claim. Their Trace Department called me the 12th and said they are looking but they really have no idea where it is. The next step is waiting 14 days since the last scan and making restitution (it is insured).

I asked how this could happen and they said the label could be torn-off the box, etc...In that case, everything without a label goes to a research center where they try to match-up what is missing with what is in-front of them.

Anyhow, the Trace Department guy was really cool and seemed a bit bummed-out this happened...he seemed pretty sincere and said he played guitar guitar and asked about lead time, etc...

I'm sure it will work-out and I really don't have a beef with FedEx, but I was pretty bummed to not get the head...

What do you guys think? is there some FedEx dude from the shipping dock in Sun Valley, CA rocking a DS this weekend?

Had that issue with USPS a long time ago. They eventually found the guitar a week or so later, and it was safely delivered to my door. Hopefully the same scenario will happen to you.

This does indeed suck, myself and Friedman have called FedEx as well. We are all waiting on the tracer. If they did in fact "lose it" we will get another sent right out of course. The matching cab shipped today so lets hope it doesnt go Bermuda triangle on us as well.

Yeah, I should have added Brad has been great throughout this whole thing...Awesome communication, speedy shipping, etc. He told me i will not get hosed on a crazy wait time if it wasnt found...

Other than the actual amp not being here, it's been an awesome transaction!

Dan - you've been on quite the buying spree lately....

They will find it. Packages slip through the cracks all the time and don't get scanned. Hey, if an amp from Saudi can find its way to Wisconsin, surely Fedex can find it too!

I sent a head back to the manufacturer for repair a few years ago and when it came back, it disappeared at the Chicago UPS hub for a week once. Just gone. Opened a claim and everything. And one day it just showed up. Pretty stressful, but worked out.

Fingers crossed for you!

FedEx is pretty good about their business. Shit happens some times, but its highly probable they'll find it, and get it to you. UPS on the other hand...

Lol, no kidding....Like a dealer, your "FS" ads are the worse, like crack or something...

For example, I read your ad for the Matchless and watched the video and seriously considered shooting you a message...I mean me, a Matchless? Never even blinked on my radar until that moment so I stepped slowly back from the computer...and tripped over another fucking amp, lol!

I think i need an intervention! :D

This happened to me when I bought my Plexi last January. Asked for 2-3 day shipping through USPS and it was lost in the system for over two weeks. Somehow it appeared at my door one day in one piece with nothing broken.

It's like playing Russian Roulette with USPS and the others.

It will show...when I ordered my BE-100 and matching cab from Brad I watched the tracking....arrived a day later than FedEx said.....I got a knock on my door and this thick sexy asian chick was panting...(no joke). She said...you order this?? I looked and yup...it was the 4x12 :).. and the BE-100. She pulled it from the truck into the building/elevator to my door. I said "no dolly?" and she stated they didn't put it on her truck that day. What a trooper she was...sexy thick and asian....should have got her # right? :D

I hear you loud and clear on this one.

I've had six speakers (three pairs) of Scumbacks come up missing from the Long Beach or LAX USPS offices in the last year. They get there to ship overseas, they are scanned and "POOF", they're gone. Lost in Long Beach or LAX....forever.

If you read about some guy(s) in So Cal raving about his Scumbacks, they have good reason to.

Sure, the post office reimbursed me since I insure each shipment for full sales value. But in the meantime I have to apologize to the overseas buyer that the USPS screws up. Then I have to send them a new pair of speakers to replace the lost pair they paid for. And three months later the USPS finally sends me a check after I wait 45 days for the foreign country to run a trace, and for them to resolve or realize that it isn't in their possession. Of course it's not, some postal worker is rocking his 2x12 on the weekends, you farking idiots! Sheesh!

But hey...I'm not bitter.

Hey Jim, You have to pay those postal workers. You can write it off on your taxes also.

I used to work at fedex, and alot of things could have happened. It could still be on the dock/receiving area. The receiving area is where all the packages get routed to trucks each day and scanned. There are belts and sometimes items do fall off. But, if it was a larger item or big ticket item, we used to keep it in what was called "the cage" That was for all high dollar amount items.

Call your local fedex, and see if they have it or call the call center, and ask them for claims department, that you have a high ticket item that is missing. They will go to the area where it was last scanned and see what happened.

Also, people do "walk off" or make items disappear. You don't even want to know some of the stories I can tell you.

Any help or questions, please pm me.

Im sure you'll get it, but don't count out the assumption.

I used to work for UPS and witnessed a few thefts.

Especially if the box had the brand name.

Look, if you were actually a rock star, but worked as a Fedex driver on a 5 $/hour wage and you had a little criminal energy, and suddenly you get a $%& heavy box where it says "Tonemerchants" and "Friedman" on the box - say, what would you do?

FedEx drivers actually make around $20+/hr, last time I checked. And I'd deliver the package, take my paycheck and do a few lines of coke. I'm a "rock star" in your scenario, after all. ;)
