What do you guys think? is there some FedEx dude from the shipping dock in Sun Valley, CA rocking a DS this weekend?
I hear you loud and clear on this one.

I've had six speakers (three pairs) of Scumbacks come up missing from the Long Beach or LAX USPS offices in the last year. They get there to ship overseas, they are scanned and "POOF", they're gone. Lost in Long Beach or LAX....forever.

If you read about some guy(s) in So Cal raving about his Scumbacks, they have good reason to.

Sure, the post office reimbursed me since I insure each shipment for full sales value. But in the meantime I have to apologize to the overseas buyer that the USPS screws up. Then I have to send them a new pair of speakers to replace the lost pair they paid for. And three months later the USPS finally sends me a check after I wait 45 days for the foreign country to run a trace, and for them to resolve or realize that it isn't in their possession. Of course it's not, some postal worker is rocking his 2x12 on the weekends, you farking idiots! Sheesh!

But hey...I'm not bitter.

That's a coincidence. I know a guy that works there......

FedEx sucks.
They all suck. Fedex sucks the least in my experience. Granted that's only 5000 shipments in the last 8 years, but I've used everyone.

You might not believe it, but in LA this is how they rank in order of best service.

1) DHL (if you do express/international). Too bad they no longer do domestic USA ground shipping.
2) Fedex
3) USPS
4) UPS (They are the worst for everything. Highest shipping costs, highest damage claim ratios, too. 19 out of 27 shipments dinged/damaged or lost in 8 years. That's over 2/3rds of the shipments I sent or received. And that's why I refuse to use them or receive shipments from them.

I can't believe USPS rated higher than anyone, in my experience they make shipping via foreign owned taxi seem more dependable and secure.

To the OP:

Where in Wisconsin do you live? If you want to hear a Dirty Shirley I live outside Milwaukee and had one delivered Tuesday.

      :D

Just kidding!

All of the carriers suck especially UPS and FedEx!! Can't people do a job with some pride and not screw things up!!! It is not rocket science!!! And yes, they make good money!!

Maybe I've just been rally lucky, but considering the TONS of things I've ordered over the years, I can only count a couple of things that were ever damaged in shipping and needed to be returned/exchanged. I agree that there are those that don't take their job seriously and could give a shit about properly handling packages in transit, but when you consider the sheer amount of merchanise that is constantly being moved around by the carriers, it really is an amazing service/process. I can sit in my underwear and surf the web, find a music retailer site, order an amp and it shows up on my doorstep. But I feel for you and it sucks when stuff like this happens.

this IS WHY you Should always hand write The Address on The box as well as Their stickers!!!!!!!!

FedEx delivered a brand new Gibson Les Paul to the wrong street last year.

My street was Patterson and they delivered to Peterson a few miles away. I was so lucky that Sweetwater put my phone number on the label and the guy who got my guitar called me and I was able to pick it up.

All I got from FedEx was an apology.

When ever I ship something out or have something shipped to me, I avoid Fedex like the plague. I have had a couple small issues with damage or lost with usps or ups, but correcting those problems were pretty hassle free. Fedex in my experience messes up delivery or damages packages more often than not, and having it corrected is the biggest pain in the butt. Makes Comcast customer service look amazing.

This must be a regional issue. Here in LA my battles with UPS have been legendary, and once I wound up in small claims court (I won the judgment for $220 more than I asked for from UPS since they reimbursed me for court costs and witnesses) with them since they were so unreasonable...short story is they just deny every claim regardless if they packed it or not. You have to threaten then with small claims to make them negotiate, and even then they try to lie their way out of it.

Fedex and Comcast? Again this must be a regional thing. Comcast (now Time Warner here in LA) is possibly the worst cable provider in the USA.

I had my first Fedex claim in over six months last week. I uploaded the pics, they reviewed, they agreed, check is on it's way to me. That makes 2 claims this year. I've had 12 claims in 8 years of business, with over 6000 shipments with Fedex.

Not sure where you live but your experience is obviously much different than mine here in Los Angeles.

Surprized at the theft comments frankly. When I worked in the UPS hub (1989) loading packages, there was a policy in effect whereby if you ratted-out someone for theft, you could get paid $5,000. I never witnessed any theft at all. And had I done so... you're damn right I'd have ratted them out! (Money or no.)
