Shred without the shred. Which for me is the highest compliment I can give. He's doing it, but it's so damn melodic and tasteful you don't realize what he's really pulling off. Very cool.

I remember watching Sacred Rite at the Queen Theater kick ass. Man I miss the 80's... those were the days.
i grew up within walking distance of queen theater and saw many a cool surf movie there before it became a porno house
saw the ill fated megadeth/aaronsrod show there when the band broke up

unfortunately i'd already moved to cali before SR became the house band for rocky horror and did shows at queen

it was amazing how metal oahu was back in the day..great players!

did you by chance see marty friedman at the coconut grove with "hawaii" back in the day?
classic metal moment..he's in the audience with a 100 foot cable, spinning on his back at the foot of my table soloing with his eyes closed, when his cord comes out of one of his THREE mxr distortion boxes, instant wall of ground noise, scampering back to the stage dejected to try to fix the tangled mess.

I remember watching Marty Friedman (with Hawaii) play at the 50th State Fair.

my friend pluto here on the forum used to take lessons from marty in high school-marty used to show up at his house just up the street from me and basically shred uli and randy and japanese violin licks for an hour and bail

and let's just say mf wasn't the most dapper fellow to ever come a courtin'

he used to play an maroon epiphone coronet which was pretty unique looking and sounded kinda like an sg, but man he just
shredded the heck out of that thing!

i think bruce egnater mentioned having that coronet as his personal guitar as well....

There was a pretty good metal band in Hawaii in the late 90s/early 2000 or so but can't remember their name. Pretty heavy sounding.

I played a few shows at the Pink Cadillac downtown (you guys remember that place?). We did one show at that bar that had the live monkey's in a glass "cage" behind the bartender. That was really strange. :) I remember they used to have alot of shows at Gussie Lamour's as well in the 90's. I think Crue even played there.

I miss jamming with Zach and Carlos at Hot Licks.

So, I get home from work - all pilau - (that's filthy for everyone else), crack open a beer and sit at the PC to browse the forum. I see something 'bout a Peacemaker soes I open it up..... little did I know it would be a mass love-fest!!!

U guys r great!

Unfortunately, the Peacemaker in that video is being used only as a vehicle to amplify the right side of my stereo set up that night (I needed channel switching). What you're hearing is actually my modded JMP, which since then has been modded more.

Pat, I can't believe you posted some of that stuff! It's hard to listen to......

Anyway, thanks 4 all the compliments!! And Pat, is the check $200 or $225?

Oh, and Paul Gilbert used to play one of those Epiphone Wilshires back when he won the Best Guitarist in L.A.. I believe he even had Ibanez make a copy of it for him.

and totally unrelated (except for the phase 90 connection) but this guy just kills me with this tune--my favorite new artist/music/song of 2011:

Used to go to Pink Cadillac, Wave, and Jazz Cellar a lot back in the day...

The only bar with monkeys I remember was in Pearl City....

Glad you mark and ejecta are diggin this guy too
Everyone I personally show this to are instantly fans

the guy is skilled with the modern toys and beat box groove but has the 70s soul vocal and melody nailed DOWN

there were different variations of it. Early on had gibby style headstock then later went to batwing type headstock. Early had p90's , then mini humbuckers. Then fullsize hums I think once production was moved from usa to japan. Awesome guitars in either configuration.

Hey Pat,

That clip of your PM after Vic modded it sounds killer!!! if I may so bold, what all did he do, and what kind of tubes did he put in the preamp other than 12ax7s? Great tone!

thank yah kindly!
If you go to the Mojave website and look up the HG mod for the sidewinder that is what he did to my peacemaker
He changed the type of preamp tube the amp uses-no longer comparable with standard 12ax7 type

I posted a clip on my YT page of vic plugged straight in to my PM high sesitivity jack with his les paul so you can get an idea of how much gain the amp generates without additional boxes or effects
