Before the mod:

And after:

I’ve done some work to this beautiful old Fender Dual Showman. It was modified by someone before and wasn’t working properly.
After my rebuild, it has a new distortion channel with gain, volume, treble, middle, bass and a three-way bright switch.
I’ve also installed a tube buffered effects loop and a presence and punch control for the power amp.
By pulling out the master volume the frequency range of the punch control changes which gives you a great control over the bottom end.
The vibrato channel sounded so good that I kept it, just a few adjustments are done to it and it still has its original spring reverb,
but the vibrato circuit is removed to give room for the effects loop.
The channels are switchable via footswitch or a toggle switch on the front panel.
It still carries the original Philips 6L6 tubes which still measures excellent after 40+ years!
Guitar (Greco EGF-1000) straight into the amp.
TC G-major II in the loop for some delays.
Cab: Malmberg 4×12 with old Greenbacks.
Mics: Golden Age R1 mkIII, Tascam DR-40
