Definitely an unexpected collaboration but Fender is a large corporation and has separate departments-more than anything they're a different company simply using the "Fender" name as a source of name-recognition. Think about all the things Yamaha puts out

But yeah, compared to the fender of history, pre-CBS corporate buyout (as Wayne would say), definitely a disappointment.

I don't see anything upsetting about it, Fender can branch off into other audio avenues, and hopefully have quality stuff. Just slightly strange though cause Fender isn't really known for hi fidelity audio systems..

Bose did their car audio sound system and that worked out well, but Bose at least used to be known for having nice home audio speakers. Fender is reaching here though.

THey announced that they intend to be the number 1 car sold in America and they are on a roll right now, the Passat just grabbed the 2012 car of the year as well.

PLus Yamaha is a way better company than fender, they make the R1

Chances are the sound systems are the same units they were last year but Fender licensed their name to VW. Same thing Dynaudio did for a couple of years...

I kinda feel the opposite- Fender is offering kids amazing start up axes.. and while REALLY expensive I have played a few masterbuilt teles that are mong the best electric guitars I have ever played_____ I think Fender is finally making stuff I would buy which it mostly hasn't since '64... Fender is hitting a new high! I bought a limited edition esquire that might be my best axe... but FUCK they are expensive haha -- so are things like suhr and anderson and prs though...

Marshall car stereos sound great but they are so loud you can't even drive-BMW is coming out with an attenuator built in though.
