They take some getting use to. There is one for sale in the classified section right now.

The scalloped neck (upper frets only) didn't bother me much,if you're worried about that  .

frets 1-5 you will have to have a soft touch or you will go sharp, after the 6th frets it is much easier to play imo. LOVE the scalloped neck for vibratos, once you get the hang of it you have so much more control.

Yngwie guitars are the shit.

Love/Hate my YStrat
The tones are so spectacular, there is almost a ghostly glow that resonants around the notes- many times I double check to make sure my signal is dry and it is, the guitar just has an auro like no other

I seem to play better when I forget it's an Yngwie Strat- the guitar is totally unforgiving for my sloppy technique. If I just stop trying to play super fast Yngwie and stick to feel and vibrat, the guitar rules.

My slop becomes more evident when speed picking runs up and down the strings. Sweeps and single string runs I can execute, but the spacing seems to be a little wider than my Les Paul I've played for 10 years exclusivley.

Clean tones on the middle pu through my Gigmods Tweed in a randall mts is a Los Lonely Boys/SRV wet dream.

closer to love than Hate these days

Sold mine. Really loved it in many ways. I think it`s not the most versatile guitar. At least not as versatile as my JS-1. What really bothered me about the guitar was that the high E was falling of the fretboard very easily. Brought it to a guitar tech but also afterwards i still had the problem a bit. Other than that it`S the best guitar for shred ala Malmsteen, and god for Blues. Really has that Malmsteen vibe. But be careful you could get a lemon like mine. There is a lot of information about the high E problem on the net. My guitar tech also found that the guitar was a lemon. So: good guitar but you have to get a good one. Don`t buy without trying or having the possibility to send it back after trial.

I had the same problem with my very first Strat,post-CBS '70...What a pain i. t. a. it was !

I did read about that problem for many; I got lucky with mine i guess

Here's a clip of a new tune I wrote (first draft)

I used the YJM Strat> mw1> Randall rm100KH> Gigmods Tweed> 1960av> Naked Eye Ribbon> ua8110> Roland vs2480(lol)

The 2 rhythms are middle pickup, no eq or reverb
The solo I dressed up with delay with the neck pickup

I usually play hard rock/metal, but maybe I'll put together a bunch of tunes with this vibe

I think Callaham makes a bridge or has a fix for the high E string problem. I don't think it is a Yngwie model related problem, but rather related to certain Strats.
