In case anyone wants to hear the Chupa doing metal as a comparison:

Chupa sounds more mid rangey and less high end or is that just the diff between a mic'ed cab and what I hear on the hand held recorder?

Nick needs to get on a SLO clone.. a SLO with all the options! It is the last classic amps that elude him..

Sounds great! I was thinking of trading in my Chupa for a Yeti (or modding mine to Yeti specs).

Some of you have probably seen it before. But here's my Chupa for comparison:

Just ordered and paid for mine this morning!, did your guys' yeti's take the full 5 weeks quoted on the site? I'm psyched to play this thing

Currently I am in the 5th week waiting for mine - Sat would be exactly 5 weeks. I have no shipping info so far.

To reduce the level of disappointment in advance, you'd better expect at least 5 weeks.

Congrats man!

A mate came round the other day and he's been exposed to a fair gamut of amps and said some very complimentary things about the Yeti...I think he was a definite fan.

Mine took a full 5-6 weeks to build and then the shipping time (which was only about 4 days as I live in Aus).

Hope you enjoy it!

6 weeks is still pretty bloody quick, I waited 9 months each time for my Suhr guitars :)

Your Yeti sounds very cool! Does the Yeti have more low end then a typical Plexi amp?

What are the dimensions of the head shell?? This looks like a very cool amp especially for the price!!!

Wouldnt be my go to tone for what I play but I can definitely see where that would cover alot of hard rock and metal ground and do it well..

Thanks mate!

It kinda depends on the settings.

On the Plexi setting it has alot bottom end with the 4x12. Most of the 100w Plexi's I used have had plenty of bottom end though not as much as say a Dual Recto.

On the Jose settings (80s/90s) bottom end definitely gets truncated though when it's cranked up to gig/jam volume it has plenty of omph and is still really tight with zero woofiness even when its drowing out drummers. I actually find I pull the bottom end back for the classic Plexi setting as it's too flubby and full. It's more of a cutting fullness IMHO when it's gained out.

This definitely isn't a bottom end heavy amp but it's still chunky and compares to my 5150 really well in the full, aggro, meticallic gain stakes. The clip above is pretty accurate of what it can sound like 'in the room'.

It's a smaller headshell: roughtly 26" x 10" x 8"

Yeah, IMHO it's pretty much unbeatable for the price. There is nothing I could personally imagine getting new for $1200 that could rival it IMHO (unless you just wanted something like a Fender clean etc).

Have you used the effects loop much? I'm wondering how good it sounds with rack effects?

Only really used it for poweramp in but I'm taking it down the beach in a few days and will run the 4cm then and see how it goes.

It needs a rack level signal I believe so there is a big volume drop with a pedal level signal. I'm running an EQ in my 4cm setup so I have about 15db of boost available so it should be ok once I match the levels. It seemed pretty transparent when I was just using the power section but it's a pretty simple loop from memory.

One of my Demos has a Nova Repeater in the loop it works great!

I ordered a Yeti 2 weeks ago.
cant wait to get it next year!

Guitar Noize, does your Chupa sound like this?

was contemplating between the Chupa and Yeti
