Well, since Anderson doesn't get much love at TGP, I figured I would repost this up at good ol rig talk lol.
So, where do I begin lol. The last few years,Like most of you here, I've been flipping through high end guitars trying to find what I like. Let's just say that number is over 30 lol, and unfortunately that took its toll on my playing for awhile. Last year I got first Anderson, an Angel ( the HSH with the floyd pictured below) and it blew me away. No guitar has made it with me for more than a couple months, until now. She's been here over a year!
I've become quite the fan of Anderson and about 2 months after getting that one started thinking about doing a custom order to my spec. The problem became my need for instant gratification and I kept putting it off. Right after christmas I finally filled out an order form and sent it in to Matts music and...put it off again for that instant gratification. I ended up buying another one off the wall from them (the HSS in the pic) It was an amazing guitar and I really liked it,but it wasn't what I wanted. It is now in the hands of a fellow forumite here getting the love it deserves. And with that IVE FINALLY PLACED MY CUSTOM ORDER! It went in on tuesday and Jay at Matts Music pushed a few of their shop builds that were just coming up to get me a July delivery!
So for anyone with an imagination,Here is how it is spec'd

Angel
Quilt top on mahogany-Personal top choice
Cajun Teal with natural back
Chocolate Maple with Ziricote fingerboard
Reverse Headstock with body matching Anderson logo! (yes, a teal logo, they don't do this often)
Even taper
Heavy Frets
Vintage locking trem (like the Charvel guthrie)
Locking tuners
HSH - I went with H3+, SC1, H1+
5 way with split and add bridge
Black Hardware

Ugh, its going to be so sick I can't wait! I got pretty excited when Jay said Roy from Anderson was excited with this build!

I take it you didn't the black and green charvel? Congrats on finding your fav builder.

I love quilt tops!

Just asking, which of these two do you like best? For myself, the bottom one would be my choice...but I have quilts just like both of these.

Congrats. Gibson5413 and myself are the resident Tom Anderson lovers on here. I've got 5 and he's got at least that many now.

What pickups are in your current angel? I had an H3+ in a Drop Top I ordered but swapped it out soon after getting it. My favorite is the H3.

Angel of Drop Top?
Neck shape?
Nut width?
Frets?

TGP has dedicated Anderson threads in the Small Luthiers section. Your old Angel is already up there.

Nice, TAs are great! No idea why they aren't a little more popular!

I absolutely love Anderson pickups. He's a quality guy, too. Always answers quaetions via email. An Anderson guitar will be in future some day, when I can afford it.

The bottom one is my preference for quilts, I prefer a very even and tubey style quilt. I sent them a picture of a sweet PRS Private stock for my target quilt style to look for. Cant wait for some pics of tops to start rolling in to make my choice(Ill update this thread once I pick one) but I don't think they do that until a month or 2 in when they start the body

First off...congratulations on your custom TAG build!

I definitely am!!! I have 6 TAGs and I play each of them just about every day. 1 Drop Top, 1 Pro Am, 2 Bulldogs, 1 Classic T Shorty and a Classic S. 4 are custom order and 2 are exactly what I would've ordered had I not found them. The difference maker for me is the Even Taper neck. Don't get me wrong...I love everything about his guitars but this particular neck carve is the difference maker. I love all kinds of guitars and brands but the neck is what has me playing his guitars exclusively. I can play on any guitar and neck but I start getting pain at the base of my thumb on my neck hand. I don't get any of that with the Even Taper neck. Couple that with all of the things Tom is known for and that's it. I love them and couldn't be happier as a guitar player.

I absolutely LOVE my Anderson. It's a '93 Drop Top. I'd love to get an Angel in Atlantic Storm finish sometime soon!
