I picked this up the other day…

I don’t know what year it is.

It’s an Epiphone “korina” Firebird. It’s a Limited Edition, Custom Shop model, according to the back of the headstock.

This Firebird has 2 humbuckers as opposed to 2 mini buckers. I took out the stock pickups and installed a set of Wolftone Dr Vintage pickups. I was going to re wire the whole guitar, but it does have full size pots and they have pretty good taper. I kept the stock bridge and tailpiece. I was REALLY SURPRISED to see locking Steinberger tuners on an Epiphone!!! I love these tuners.

I’m not sure of the body wood? It’s very light. It has a “korina” veneer. The neck appears to be mahogany, judging by the grain. It has a rosewood fretboard.

The neck is a wonderful 59-ish carve!

The original owner had the scarf joint repaired at some point. It appears the the scarf joint was not properly attached at the factory.

There’s no fret wear. It’s looks like it wasn’t hardly played at all. It’s sets up incredibly well!!! The tone is amazing!! Plays like dream!!!

It also came with a generic hard case.

Overall, I’m VERY IMPRESSED!!! It’s a great playing guitar with wonderful tone!!
