Get all the guitars you can before we’re all dead

Even the case is top notch! Good eye. Everything about this guitar, and the Oxblood Les Paul I recently got, is excellent. They trained the Chinese builders well.
HNGD! Wow that thing is sweet looking. Epiphone is putting out some extremely nice guitars lately. I have the white 1959 ES355 reissue and it is a great instrument. Not only are you giving me GAS but you also made a good argument to do it. Only live once! Enjoy!

I noticed the neck on their, inspired by, 335 was fat too.
Yes, it’s a fat neck, and yes, it does have some neck dive.
So did the $3000 Gibson SG I had years ago.
That stuff don’t bother me because I play sitting down, and I always rest my right arm on the guitar anyway, which counters it.

I played one of the new Epiphone 1960 Reissue Les Pauls and was knocked out at how good the quality was. Right out of the box it didn't even feel like it needed a setup. It was very resonant acoustically too before I even plugged it in. Punched way above it's weight class for around $1100 but it was a little on the heavy side at 10+ lbs.

I bought 5 this year, sold 3.

There have been a few holiday sales that have really tempted me, but I’m trying to hold off & actually play the ones I have a little more.

Lately my attitude has been that we all have hour glasses, and even if you attain your grail(s) there are only so many times you'll be able to play them. Do you want to enjoy them now or as an old codger? Your hands and ears won't always be as healthy, either, so go for it! I've often been inspired to write new songs just from having a new guitar.

Before the internets, it would have been impossible to stalk guitars all over the world as I do now. It's a constant thing. As long as I buy at a smart price, I feel no guilt!

I think 4 and 0 may happen next year.

I overdid it this year, but it’s Christmas, why not?

This came set up very well and Plek’d from Sweetwater.
Epiphone 1963 SG Custom - Classic White VOS, Mahogany Body, Mahogany Neck, Ebony Fingerboard, and 3 Humbucking Pickups - Classic White VOS.
Hendrix had a similar one, I’ve seen Holdsworth with a white SG, Mary Ford had one.
Another guy has one that was in a famous band. See if anybody knows who that is.

I got one of these Epi 1963 Les Paul Custom SG's last year. The build quality is great; sounds and plays great; out of the box it was setup and intonated; the three Gibson pickups alone are around $700-$800 new; real MOP inlays. I also like the finish, and it won't yellow with age like nitrous.

The Gibson vesion is over $6K and pushing close to $7K IIRC, from last year.

Great score, and enjoy;

It was so good that I sold my '61 Gibson SG standard RI (white also).

I sold several guitars this year; purchased several more. As my guitar tastes and needs change, it's out with some of the old, and double down on some of the new.

When EBMM released the Kaizen, I got one and it just seemed perfect for what I like and want; so I got more. When new models/finishes are released I'll probably get more if I like the finish...Before the Kaizen I really had zero interest in EBMM.

In September / October 2025 alone I purchased a new EBMM Kaizen 6 in Radium (I have 5 total, my main guitars), and two new EBMM Majesty 6 (I have 3; my old one is getting a new Roland GK-5 pickup when I get around to it. I have the cable, pickup and DA converter in a box waiting for me. to get around to it).

The Majesty is the best all around guitar I've ever played. It does everything I need and want in a guitar.

I missed the opportunity to get an Ibanez JPM Picasso back when they had high but "normal" pricing. So now I've moved on to the idea of a JPX or Majesty. I played one of the EBMM JPs (don't remember the model, but prior to JPX) and know I would dig it, but honestly, I'm still in love with my Charvels and Jacksons, the Fender Strats of my generation. And my ESPs, which have a slightly different take on the same idea.

I'm looking into a Charvel or Jackson Fusion (24.75" scale) and/or maybe an LTD Andy LaRocque next year, and maybe some breed of Petrucci guitar + my first headless guitar, could end up with an OG Steinberger or maybe one of the newer breeds like Strandberg or Kiesel, possibly a multi-scale. I absolutely love how so many new guitars are coming with SS frets these days. :worship_gray:

One of those holiday deals finally got the better of me…

Kauer Starliner jr is en route
Kinda got a boner from that... A Kauer Banshee is on my short list of super gassed out wants / must haves

Looks like a stripped-down rock n roll machine!

Yeah, I’ve been eyeballing single pickup specials & juniors for a while now. This was priced pretty nicely between a CS & standard.

I bought an R7 from a local guy on another forum earlier this year, who let me play a Kauer he had & it’s been on my mind since. I’ve been looking at banshees for years too, I should just bite the bullet & order one.

They have another one of these on their site ready to ship, I think the sale is still going. You also get another 10% off, if you subscribe to their email.

Congrats on the very nice Epi.

Have 16 in the stash, but I realized that my only neck-thru is the Jackson KV Mustaine🤷‍♂️

So here I am on the hunt for a "beater" Majesty or a very nice setneck Suhr in black limba or koa body/neck.

Recently found out what annoys the missus are the number of hard cases, not the guitars 😈

That's a beautiful axe. I really got a thing for instruments finished in white, I think they look great. I like the hardware colour as well. Congratulations.

I got rid of several guitars and amps this year, including an EBMM JP6, a Strandberg Boden 8 and a Caparison Horus HGS, besides a JVM410H, an Engl Savage and a Diezel DMoll. Down to seven guitars and a few amps now.

Trying to keep to my resolution of not picking up anymore stuff, but the struggle is real.

PS: Happy New Year, for some reason I couldn't get on Rig-Talk in Singapore, but now I'm out, it's working again.
