Been looking through their gallery, some really cool stuff in there! Has anyone else ever looked at/played their stuff? I've noticed a lot of them look ugly in the stock photos, but the real life photos look great. The Delgada model looks ugly as hell in the stock photos, but I think it's really cool looking in real life.

Anyone else like their stuff? I wish they had a quote generator. I'd like to know what it would cost to order something from them.

First Act makes me think of the junk they sell at Wal-Mart or Toys R Us.

I know that the custom shop is usually priced at 3 to 5k. I could think of a lot better guitars to buy at that price range. :scared:

Don't they throw one in the trunk (under the hood?) for free when you buy a VW Beatle???

Yes, they make cheap starter instruments for younger kids. They also have highly skilled luthiers working in a Custom Shop that make what I have been told are very nice instruments.

I've actually had a few conversations with local guys who are ex-First Act Custom Shop employees.
Apparently, their CS gear is top notch...just too bad about the name recognition it brings.
It seems like they'd be smarter than to use the same brand name for their %70 guitars as their $3500 ones.

I was working for Ministry years ago and Mike scaccia and Al each got a custom guitar from them. they were the biggest POS guitars we had ever seen. nothing but problems with them too. the backline guys hated them. Though mikey liked his.

There's a reason Ferrari, Maserati, Aston, Porsche and Lambo don't sell $17,000 cars. Marketing. I wouldn't play any guitar that is best known for crap sold inside Wal Mart. It is pure idiocy to keep the same name and I'm not interested in a company that is that clueless making something for me.

You pretty much negated your argument when you mentioned Porsche. They've had some awful cars in their lineup before. 914 ring a bell? :aww: Aston also has the Cygnet. That car makes me wanna throw up in my mouth every time I see it.

I had a 914.

The 914 is still a very well-liked car in the Porsche enthusiast community to this day and modified 914's win national PCA autocross championships regularly. You pretty much negated your Porsche crappy cars argument right there when you mentioned the 914. Had you mentioned the 924 on the other hand I would be proof-reading all my future comments in the fear that you might be reading them. :)
