yeah, the first time I played with them they cracked out the original black beauty les paul...nice.

then the strat...nice.

then the bandmasters...nice! (apart from when you have to carry them, SO heavy!)

then they plugged in the womanisers...oh hell no.

the whole room went silent. They just said "guys, trust us!"

they wiped the floor with us playing and tone wise. Some of the nicest guys that I have met. I must admit, I didn't like them the first time I saw them, and they seem really cocky, but then you talk to them

heres a clip on youtube I found, excuse the shirt off moments, it was the hottest day of the british year when filmed!

What year of Fender bandmasters do they have? The BF and SF bandmaster heads are not that heavy.

I actually never thought to check. The whole rig seemed pretty damn heavy to me, especially the cabs!

I just found out that a gig I'm doing in Nashville will have Twins as the backline.....I typically don't use pedals....I can bring my own guitars but not amps....the only OD pedal I currently own is a YJM308....and I'm playing the majority of leads on the rock/r&b tunes we do! Soooo....I'll be bringing my Jackson Fusion with the built in wah circuit and scrambling around here to put some pedals together that hopefully will sound good enough with an amp I haven't played in over 20 years to get me by. :scared:

I just thought about this some more... Maybe you could get a modeler to use into the Twin? I bet that would sound great.

Yea, the bean Pod XT`s are fairly affordable now, or maybe a used XT live? It is a nice practice tool as well, and I honestly think my XT Pro sounds nice after tweaking.

I can't see what that link was...did you buy one?

I did hehe :D

Why, yes I did! One popped up used on TGP and I snagged it real quick. Never heard the Pinnacle2 in person, but some of the clips sound great.

You snagged one too?
4 week wait for a new one...but yessir. ;)

Did you join his mailing list for the discount? I hope so, because that lowers the direct price from $199 to $169 or something. The one I bought off TGP was like $160, but no wait. I figured what the heck...

I also have a Menatone King of the Britains on the way to me.
No damn! :bash:

I ordered the new Plextortion too.

On a pedal kick? I have a BB preamp coming too. :D

also on the subject of pedals, I have a crowther hotcake on the way!

nothing to compare to you guys though!

All the pedals in my signature work well with my combo except the SD-1 which I just got and am dialing in. The blue collar is very cool with humbuckers. Did a solo this last Sunday with my Strat and the HBE Power Screamer with the fat boost on and it was well received. Also did a solo with my ES-339 and the Blues Driver which was real thick and soulful. You will like the KOTB pedal it is voiced similar to the Blue Collar but has more tone shaping ability and the extra boost etc.

AFAIK,

the hotcake is more of a smooth, creamy od pedal than a RAWRRRRR RIP YER FACE OFF kinda pedal. Meant to be very good with DSL's though which is why I got one.

However, that bandmaster head is wanting me want to sell my dsl head, sell all my old amps and guitars and just have that, a freakishly good pedalboard and a gorgeous guitar...

...for god sakes, someone talk me out of it!

+1 Overdrive/distortions can get addictive, I counted mine up recently and I was shocked at the number I had, even though I have a few different rigs I use.

I am curious to see what you end up with. I am waiting for one more, than I will do a shootout and selling some off. Hopefully the Timmy lives up to the hype...

You know what makes it so exciting to me? The fact that I can stick with one amp and still get bigtime variations by buying pedals. I mean, that's waaaaaaaay cheaper than going through amps. Although, I'm not saying I'll have this Twin forever. lol...

That is exactly how i feel lately.
Having the VOX/Dr. Z set clean/slightly dirty and trying all kinds of pedal combinations = big time variety of tone.

Are you going to go nuts and try a Klon?
My amp tech has one and he plays it with his old plexis, holy shit does it sound good, but $$$ :(

I never even played thru a Marshall except to test a repair I did for a friend. I got the old 59 Guild , its really light and plenty loud for my church gig. Not loud enough for a really rocking bar band with loud drums and stacks but at my gig we cage the drummer, which I hate but for church it works.

Try something like the FoxRox Zim. You can swap cards out within the pedal for different models. For awhile, that was my go to overdrive simply for the reason that I could build it to suit the need for the particular gig. Here's Dave's page:
