First gig with Fender Twin Reverb Reissue...

Very cool setup. I play my normal Sunday church gig and get to do 1 solo using my HBE PS screaming distortion and a couple of good toe tappers that will get some clean Strat and overdriven via Blues Driver Strat or Les Paul jr, not sure on the axe just yet. Have fun and report back.

I just bought a Lovepedal Purple Plexi 800 to try with the Twin. :) Will be here next week sometime.

Did the Pro Guitar vid sell you on that too? I love that vid, that pedal sounds godly.

Pretty much, lol! I need to stop watching those damn ProGuitarShop videos!!! Those Purple Plexi 800s get alot of respect over on TGP, so I'm anxious to see how it sounds. I hope it kicks all kinds of butt!

I've bought or sold 8 or so pedals in the past 2 weeks. lol... That's very unusual for me.

I hear you, I would have bought a half dozen or so pedals based on those vids if I had money.

Good thing I do not.

I sold ALOT of things to put the money back into other bills, but of course, I kept some aside for me to try different pedals. :) I'm just rushing through this to make sure this Twin will work out before the 30 day return policy is up.

I salute your pedal trying skills.

I wish I had the resources to do that.

Thankfully my Diezel sounds halfway decent without much pedal interference.

Dude, YOU OWN A DIEZEL!!!!! ;)

A fact that my girlfriend and parents remind me of every day.

"Why do you want more stuff? You already have that!"

They just don't understand...

Ha ha, I hear ya. Just keep doing it and after a few years, they all get numb to it. My wife doesn't even flinch if a new pedal shows up at the front door. Doesn't think twice about it. We've been married for 14 years and dated for 4 before that... I've been swapping gear in and out that entire time, except is was much cheaper stuff back then.

Yeah hopefully when I go away to school they will let me whore to my hearts content, which probably won't happen because I will be a broke college kid.

I will be in Boston though, which has a lot of great guitar places.

So who knows, all I know is that I'm happy with my gear, atleast for 5 minutes   :D .

Glad to hear it worked out so well. I got my solo this morning with my 59 Guild 20 watt and had the HBE CPR, HBE PS on boost, GE7, Sonic Stomp and a custom cap selector Joel made for me in line with the amp. It was pretty over the top for church, very close to fuzz but not quite there and sounded real good to my ear. Couple of the players I know said it was very cool so I'm happy. I'm getting a ABY switch next week to access both channels of the Guild or do a second amp dry. Have to see what sounds the best. My baby Les Paul jr. amp screams with a boost in front of it so I may use it for solos without reverb. Long live combos

good to hear things went well lads, I love gig reports!

(remember to tell me what you do to that dsl, thump!  )

Oh yeah, I'm probably going to go with something like this:

Budda Wah
Boss TU2 Tuner
BYOC Script Phaser
Rig-Talk Plank Cranker
Distortion Pedal 1 (less distortion, more classic rock tone)
Distortion Pedal 2 (more distortion, hard rock/metal tone)
SubDecay EchoBox (for delay and chorus)
Boss GE7 (lead volume boost)

I've never really used any other effects with any regularity (flanger, compressor, etc...), so this should be the perfect amount of pedals for me.

Phaser before the distortion, that is different, I always run mine Phase 90 after the distortion or in the loop.

I am pretty much doing the same thing as for as dirt with my marshall 2553. I have a maxon OD808 as a light overdrive, Hermida Mosferatu for a medium overdrive, and a onboard marshall distortion for classic rock tone. I then reset the Presence on the amp and use an EQ in the loop for a metal tone.

I would use the plank cranker, but I am more familiar with the OD808 and mosferatu, just haven't spent enough time with the PC to tweak it when the pressure is on at practice...

Oh yeah, I much prefer phase before distortion. It's too swooshy and pronounced for me after distortion. But that's just me, ya know!

I will have to give my EVH phase 90 a try before my dirt boxes and see how it goes. I don't find I use my phase 90 much, in fact I don't have one on my band rig.

I prefer a Phase 90 before the distortion too.
If you really like the Wampler maybe try the Boss DD20 delay, it's a great delay pedal as well and I saw a video demo of a Wampler pedal with the DD20 after it.

I had a Wampler Pinnacle pedal and it didn't suffer from this same issue. I think it's only his Plextortion pedals. The strange thing is that it doesn't matter what pedal I put after it, none work! I've tried a Boss TU2 tuner, noise gate pedal, etc... Any pedal after the Plextortion turns it into a harsh trebly mess. Really, really horrible sounding.

It's pissing me off... :) This is just my luck. I finally find a kickass pedal (dare I say "THE" pedal for me) and it doesn't play well with other pedals. Jesus, this is getting old. lol
Ya, that demo was with the Pinnacle. Now that kinda sucks, I have a Plextortion on the way soon. :D

That seems really weird that the designer would make it so you can't run a delay after it... where else are you supposed to put your delay? There isn't an FX loop on the new twin RIs is there? All I can think is maybe the buffer is partly responsible for why you like it so much?

you could split the bad pedal off the line with a AB switch and still have your cake and eat it too. I am planning a seperate run for my SD-1 as it seem incompatible with my compressor and reverb unit. I will still have all my normal pedals in the configuration they are currently in but have the SD-1 on its own loop. Don't throw it out until you try some creative stuff like that especially if the pedal kicks major ass. I should have my ABY this week and I will post a quick review of the loop setup if it works or if it fails.

If there is a as equal pedal that works in line then scrap the plextortion and go for it. I'm sure you can find one with all the pedals on the market today.

Yeah, I agree. It's not just a delay pedal, it's ANY pedal! But yeah, delay is the only thing that I'd run behind it in my rig, so that's what really matters to me.

And yeah, I thought about that too. It may be that 1meg resistor that gives it the certain tone I like. I hate that I found a great pedal, only to face this problem.

haha, tell me about it. I have this one:
solidMetal_angle.jpg

It has a built in "Nuclear boost", but in order to make it exactly the way I want with my other stuff, I have to put this one in front.. :D

TS9-b31f70d38d7dcab3cb3a58524f1c5ef4.jpg

So I`m basically boosting a tube pedal with an ss pedal. And I downsized to a combo to get less stuff to drag around :D
