Just came back from the soundcheck. Damn, my rig sounds great :)
Also rented some inear monitor. Sounds promising.

So I have my dual VHT amp (Deliverance and Sig:X) and cab.
It sounds massive.

Two VHTs, now that is bringing the pain Phil

Good luck bro

Hey guys!

It went very well for a first gig. People thought we were pretty tight so I was happy.
I fucked up at a few places but as usual, nobody in the crowd noticed.

The in ear monitors are just wonderful, man, no amp fights, no raising the volume
on stage, it was great!

I'm looking forward to our next gig next month :)

Awesome!! Where did you guys play?? Next time tell me, I wanna feel the power of thy tone.

I tried taking a picture of my setup with my cell phone but you can barely see anything.

Here it is anyway :)

We played a small bar in Laval.
We are playing at another small bar in Montreal on June 19th at the Brasserie 4040 on Jean-Talon and Pie-IX.

Congratz on the gig! That is one hell of a rig you brought!

Small bar in Laval? Got the name?

Hey Phil, next time you gig, don't forget to invite your buddies from the Montreal area!

Very cool Phil, please keep up informed of your gigs, I wanna be there next time you play!

As for me, in Laval I played the Mad Max, was your gig there?

My last gig was 2 weeks ago, in Berthier, bar opening. It was a bit lame, lots of drunkers so...

I'll be playing La Place d'à Côté on Papineau St early september, it should be nice since this is a real show place, not a simple bar with limited stage. So if you guys of Mtl wanna see me and my band play, it'll be my pleasure to hang out with you guys, especially Stefvorcide, Nephalim and philb, great guys that I had the opportunity to meet at Mark's gear fest. I should be playing a couple of times this summer but I have no idea at the moment where. During summer, it's always a last minute thing so...

How did you get the gig? Sent some demos? Audio, video? Is it possible to have the contact's name so I can give them a demo? We're trying to get into Pub St-Paul and a bar called TNT on Crescent (or Peel) and man, it's tough. And I'm not getting any younger, so I can understand bar owners that want young faces with lots of attitude on their stages. I might not be young but I got the attitude!

Bar-Bistro Pariote on St-Elzear.

Played "La Place..." on Papineau street about 2 years ago. Nice stage and lotsa place for your fans/supporters. Back then they had a VHS cam with audio from the PA to record the show. Sound was pretty good. Are they still asking 200$ to rent the place?

For Pub St-Paul, you need a booker (or a really good contact). Each fall they make a contest and the winner gets access to the place.

TNT, ain't easy also. A booker or if you can reach the guy on Myspace you may be able to get a window opportunity for Thursday evening (if not he'll hook you with 2 or 3 other bands!). Only cover and last time I had a talk with the dude, he wanted some 80s stuff.

Bar St-Laurent 2 is easy to get a gig there but the place is not very cool. Club Saphir, better have your crowd as they ask you out of the stage before midnight.

Café d'en Face in St-Jerome is a cool place to play if you can get to play there from Thursday to Saturday.

Philb and Mokaccino, I'm curious to know what your band plays? Any set list to share? I'm just starting a new band (recently quit my last band of over 3 years). The new band is planning focusion on more accessible music (what I call party rock).

The bar name was Bar-Bistro Patriote and we got the gig because the drummer knows the owner.

The band has a demo recorded in the studio which was recorded before I joined the band. We got the gig on June 19th through the band's drummer.

We have another gig lined up in RDP at the club Coppollas (sp?) on July 4th. It's a new bar that has a great system and a smallish stage.
They charge $200 to rent the place. I believe they asked for a demo.

So how did the gig go ?
It went well. Of course, nothing is perfect and we'll get better and even tighter with each gig.
I'm happy with it :)

Your poor drummer is probably deaf in the left ear now! :D
