They basically sound the same on the bridge pickup. Slightly more lows, low mids and clarity with the Pro Am. Tiniest bit more high mids on the EVH.
One stays perfectly in tune with a Floyd, has single coils for strat sounds, blower switch for bridge pup direct to output jack, single coil split for bridge, and pull knob for all 3 pickups at once with 5-way switch in middle position.
The other, no single coils, single volume knob, retune with heavy whammy use.
They both play great. One is like driving a Mustang, the other like a BMW. They turn in the same times, but one you wrestle one with a bit, and don't care if birds shit on it. The other is a relaxed, refined joy ride, and you baby it.
Both set up with Elixir Nanoweb 9-42.
