wow. i haven't done one of these in quite a bit. a bit nervous cuz i don't have all the lyrics mezmerized, but i guess i do death vox and if need be, i can go so low you can't tell anyway.
actually, i pride myself on being "fairly" clear on my lows. i've been doing it pretty good lately. i'm thinkin' anthony trapani of odious mortem or maybe even corpsegrinder from cannibal corpse...ish. the only thing that suks is that i have noooo high screams at all. i'm horrible at them. they make me gag pretty bad too. oh well, there's not many death fans here anyway so i guess it's all good.

11 local bands for a fundraiser for theidahomethproject.org...that's alot of friends and former bandmates right there. should be pretty sweet. i'll have pics n junk for ya tomorrow...

FWIW "corpsegrinder" is one of my top 3 fav's for death vox

dude go for it  personally i cant do any metal styles really...i can do the low stuff, but at whisper volumes, and anything with rasp in the higher ranges makes me cough. maybe i just dont have the right technique...but hell, i dont sing much anyways so it really doesnt matter

kick some ass dude...and do a version of "Orgasm Through Torture" for me!

ok...hehehe...gotta wait til tomorrow...father's day was fuuuuuun.

okay...first off, it was the first day (since may 1st) over 70 degrees. kinda windy but not too bad. the guy rented a kickass stage and threw this show in his back yard! it was great! show started at noon.
the idaho meth project had a booth set up to give away bracelets, stickers, pamphlets and fake tattoos (that all said "not even once"). they had a bunch of former tweakers telling their horror stories n whatnot, a bbq joint set up their lil shop near the house and all the bands got 1 free meal.
band 1 - dissolved in blood - young bucks. no bassist. kinda death metal but the guitarist had horrible tone but he was playing thru a behringer halfie so i didn't hold it against him. lol!
band 2 - the reptilians - 2 guys from an acid bath tribute band's side project...ala isis, pelican, tool...psychedelic "jam band" if you will. played excellent and bobby's schecter hellraiser was a beaute.
band 3 - denots - my former band. we got a new sound guy in before they took the stage cuz the other guy was...inadequate. anyway, they played really good too but the wind kicked up a bit and the mics were picking it up a bit. all in all...good. marshall dsl in the house. a bit too radio for my taste.
band 4 - neckbrace - gate city gore core. most brutal band in idaho. their singer is a former isu defensive end. in. fukn. tense. they slaughtered the stage. they had all the hardcore dancers goin' for it...haaard! soooo good. my fave band around here. we play alot of shows with these guys. think hatebreed meets dying fetus. anyway, pat's new thrown together lefty fender tobacco burst strat with an upside down righty neck was awesome. throw that into a randall (the all-tube one?) with a v30 avatar and it sounded crushing! oh yeah, rio grande pup.
band 5 - terrorist - hardcore band from elko, nevada. 3 guitarists. amaaaazing. 6505's all the way around. interesting story...during their set, their singer dumps a bottle of water on one of the straight edge kids that came out to watch us play. turns out, crazy eddie didn't like it too much and was bound and determined to kick the shit outta the singer. they don't call him crazy eddie for nuthin'...anyway, eddie maddogs the singer the whole time they're tearing down. he waits for them to load up the trailer (all the while, i'm on stage, waiting for a mic cable and watching it all go down) and BAM! eddie hits him. before you can even blink, the singer from terrorist has eddie in a fukn guillotine! nobody tries to break it up. none of the other sXe try to jump in (they weren't real thrilled that eddie wanted to fight over sumthin so dumb). his buddy is telling the singer to jus hold him til he don't wanna fight no more. the singer complies and blake comes over (the owner/organizer of the show) and everybody splits 'em up. eddie gets kicked out...turns out, the singer from terrorist is MMA and has been for awhile. poor eddie din't know what he was gettin' into. LOLZ!
band 5 - dimmencha - my band. i had no monitors so i couldn't really tell if i sounded good but i thought the band played...solid. no MAJOR fukups. it was very hot so i took off my shoes. i was jumpin and runnin all over the stage and next thing i knew, the rubber pad had worn a blister on the bottom of my right foot. fuk it. keep goin'. i was outta energy and breath but i knew i had to keep the intensity up throughout the entire set. i had to dig deep to find the reserve boost but i got it. so ruff. i've never been so drained after a show as i did that day. i need to start excercising and get into shape. all in all, i thought i did okay. B
band 6 - hatelocker - radio metal, good friends from pocatello, crate blue voodoo...actually, it didn't sound too bad. he's got so many pedals hooked to the thing, you prolly can't hear the actual amp. LOL
band 7 - poolside at the flamingo - grindcore band originally from colorado but moved to oklahoma. the guitarist, singer and keyboard/sample chik have only been wit them for 1 month. THEY SLAAAAAAAAY! these guys got one of the most amazing drummers ever. he's like a drum machine. so fast, effortless and precise. perfect. i've been waiting a long time to see a band like this around here. it was great. nicest guys in the world too. 6505+ and an ibanez rg321 for these guys.
band 8 - ixxion - idaho falls melodic death metal. think trivium...ish harmony-filled thrash with a young chris barnes on vocals. fukn great! their lead guitarist was playing an ibanez xyphos (?) which i thought was an old jackson warrior for awhile. can't remember the amp. i'm thinkin' mesa recto of some sort. sounded great tho. these 2 guys can fukn play thier asses off.
band 9 - sonic devastation - my old school homies. black metal from idaho falls. they have no bassist either. they don't need one tho. they crush. their guitarist/singer has over 40 guitars including a moser and a rico jr. he plays a jsx (i know, satriani black metal) and it sounds killer. the other guy uses a ibanez tube amp...the one that dino cazares endorsed for a bit. thermion? can't remember. they did a cover of raining blood that was pretty awesome.
band 10 - fortunate son - classic rock cover band from rexburg. no one stuck around to see them. they were supposed to be earlier but one of their guys had to work. they got bumped to last because of it. they ain't too bad tho. kinda boring.

awesome night. fun as hell. you're prolly bored by now so...

pics of my band...

I agree! It`s been far too long since I did something like that, I wish I knew some musicians in this area. (I moved from my home town a couple of years ago, and while this is a good place to raise kids, it ain`t much for a washed-up metal amateur :D

hehe...same here. well, it's "okay" to raise kids here. there's a serious "let's-do-drugs-cuz-it's-boring" problem that's plagued the children of this area since i was young...but you prolly won't get shot in the head here. i don't know if that's a good trade off but we'll see. maybe my kids will do what i did and start playing instruments to cure the boredom...oh wait...i did drugs too...guess i'm jus fukt either way.
