Well I have to say that the reactive load kicks ass! In The few times I've miked a real cab I have never even come close to making it sound as good as this. This is a new song me and my old bands singer are working on. Gotta figure out how to mix vocals pretty soon. Recto 50 watt, Ibanez bass and superiour Drummer!

Nice! What IR'S are you using? I ordered the SRL over the weekend, and from everything I've listened to, I think it is going to be just what I need.

It really is awesome! Don't listen to the few negative reviews. I'm running it through the cab section of the TSE X50 plugin which came with a bunch of IR's. I also downloaded the free sample pack from Ownhammer and they all sound great too. They give you a shit load of free ones to try before you buy.

Sounds excellent, and it does sound like the single recto, also that bass guitar sounds superb!!!

Thanks man. Yea I spent some time setting up this bass and putting new strings on it. New strings are the key. After I bought it I changed the strings and it took a while to wash the string crud of my hands. It was like freaking tar. I don't thing that dude ever changed them. Its an Ibanez SR 500 from like 94 I think.

I have the Rewirez big box set, and about to get the Ownhammer Studio mix. I've been using the redwirez stuff, along with a few IR'S in WOSlll, with Bias amp as a practice rig. I have never been quite satisfied with the recorded tone though. I have been using RW mix IR as my loader, and occasionally WOSlll. The one thing that I hadn't tried until last night was using a convulution reverb plugin as my loader. Last night I loaded some cabs into Logic X's Space Designer plugin. That made a world of difference, and added the touch sensitivity That I felt the other loaders were lacking.
Cant wait for it to get here. I am missing using my amps!

I never thought about different Ir loaders sounding different. I guess its possible. I use FL Studio and have used there convolution plugin with equal results as everything else I've used. I think Bias sucks though no matter how I ran it.

Yeah, it took me a while to get bias tweaked to where I can use it. Never have felt it was capable of getting me where I want as far as recording. I just purchased the Ownhammer studio mix, and Coupled with Bias amp/Bias FX , it sounds pretty good. I just use the Positive Grid stuff for practicing at low volumes, and it is good enough for that. Still checking out the various cabs, and waiting for the SRL to get here so I can plug my amp in, and check it all out like that. It is hard to get inspired to lay tracks when things aren't sounding the way you want them to, so I am really looking forward to getting it.
Merry Christmas, and hope you have lots of time off to play with the new toy!

Did you run the line out from the reactive load right into your daw via a neutral interface or did you go through the line in or a mic or other preamp? I noticed the difference there with the preamp adding more depth and definition.

I have the Suhr Reactive Load too and love it. Great tones and riffage!

I plugged right into the instrument input from the unbalanced output of the Suhr. Haven't tried any other way cause it sounds really sweet.

Good question! Maybe I should change that?

That's pretty sick! Guess I know the next piece of gear I need. What interface are you using?

Just an old M-Audio FastTrack Ultra. My next gear purchase will be a new one. There was a UA Apollo8 for a stupid low price on craigslist I missed and now I cant stop dreaming of one. Come on income tax!!
