I just pickup up a g major 2 and it is working out really nice but I don't have a rack or use any rack gear. If I wanted to get into a quality floor effects unit what are some good choices. Is the g system worth the money? I tried the nova a while back and didn't care for it at all. Thanks

Well, the G-System is basically a G-Force in an adaptable floor unit. You can have it all on the floor, or mount the effect unit in a rack and still control it with the pedal-board on the floor.

BOSS GT-8... one of the best, if not THE best I've ever used. Sounds even better than the newer GT-10. Hard to go wrong with the VOX ToneLab as well.

oh hell no, they arent even close dude. the A/D converters arent even close to the same, the algorithms are not identical, and the intelligent pitch shifting is nowhere near the same.

G gystem is a glorified GM-II, the THD numbers are almost identical, they were both released with the intelligent pitch shifting updates at the same exact time when they were first released, and the delay's in the G-force and A/D converter tones of the G force out weight the G system in more ways than one.

the only thing the G system has going for it, is the ability to have external software to program patches like the original g major and the secondary software for download here on the forum.

G system =/= G force

G system is closer to the GMII than any of them.

I have also spoken with TC electronics directly about this same subject before, i was once in the market for a G force when the G system was just being released - ended up getting neither do to dropped support of the G major and the G force.

I have a line6 m13 and I really, really like it with the exception that to my ears the overdrives are a bit weak. I had the Boss GT-8 and every effect in the Line6 sounds worlds better. The Reverbs are really nice, delays are outstanding and all the modulation stuff works great too. On top of that it is as user friendly as it gets and very easy to use live. Really is like having a bunch of effects pedals there but without the mess. I have heard good stuff about the digitech rp1000 as well so one of those two would get my vote.
