Just wondering who has tried one and how much of a difference it made on the tone of your guitar?

I have one in one of my guitars. I like it. It made a pretty big difference. At first when I put it in, I was like "Hmmm... Not sure this did anything". Then I recorded it before and after and just looking at the wave file it was quite a bit louder. So what it does is augment the sustain and overall volume.

Huge difference. Massive increase in sustain. Large improvement in tone.

Do it. Do it right. Do it right now.

Put one in my Charvel which was kind of bright to begin with and made it even brighter afterwards

Get a Tonestyler. Problem solved.

How low is the bridge? Is it flush with the body? If it is, raise it up off the body a bit. It tames some of the brightness.

It's a goner. That's how I was able to get my Splawn cab ;)

I put one of the large ones in my Charvel and it made a big difference. Everything sounded bigger.

I really love it... Above poster said it made his Charvel Brighter... but did not specify weather he put a BRASS block in.

I thought the Huge "L" shaped block that I put in my San Dimas made it Rounder, and less Bright, It definately made it LOUDER, and

BALLSY-ER... More Sustain, and Punch. Highly Recomended.

Be Advised Though... I had To Route The Shit out of the Guitar, Removed a Lot of wood to retain Full Travel Of The Floyd.

YMMV...

I put one on every Floyd equipped guitar I have. They add sustain and girth to my ears.

Couldn't agree more. Thought it was snake oil. Bought one just for 'science' and my ESP FR-II sounds like a completely different guitar....FOR THE BETTER. Better overtones, sustain, and feel... Just TONE man, sounds incredibly better. Can't believe a hunk of bell brass would do this, but it has.

MAJOR :2thumbsup:

This is what I was going to say. I have a F.U. 37mm brass block that I'm not going to use anytime soon. PM me if you want to buy it.

i was wondering about upgrading my ke2 jackson with one of these...which model should i put in it in order to brighten it up a little (i'm tuned in drop C with huge strings) and that will fit perfectly? 32mm, 37mm or 42mm?

i have a suhr modern with a floyd. Which big block should i get? 37 or 42?

Brass blocks are great , no hype.

I will say that killer guitar components make much nicer blocks than floydupgrdes and also makes totally custom brass parts. Check them out. I posted a review of a custom in the reviews section of the forum.

Take the plate off and look at what the size is - it's either etched/stamped on the current hunk of metal, or you have to measure.

Secondly, this talk of "brightening up" and so forth - please note I have not had ANY color change in my tone, using the BRASS blocks. I HAVE heard that the Ti blocks may brighten things up, but c'mon, a hunk of aircraft grade Ti for several hun is a bit over the top for me. The brass is JUST fine IMHO.

Just sayin',
V.

PS - Molten, thanks for the website on this other brass outfit, brass nuts give me wood - I may get some for my Lesters. Just because I can :D

I have 2. One is from floyd upgrades and one from performance guitars. Both are excellent, highly recommend. The one from performance included a new (bigger) claw as well. That seemed to make a big difference as well.

Same as this guy. I have two as well.

One is in my JEM and the other is in my 770DX. Very awesome guitars with nice sustain and clarity boosts now in my opinion.

Also if anyone is interested I have two brass claws I got from there that I'm not going to use since they are extras now. Like to sell them both together.

Do the blocks prevent the bar from being pulled up? I thought they allowed the trem to sit up against the body in the cavity and that how they improved the tone?

That's a substantial difference.
