I'm a fan but for me his classical period is his best playing IMHO.

Just a small sample below.

You guys into this period too?

Saw him on that tour, one word, EPIC!

Good to hear.

Because you're in the UK

I was at the Hammersmith Odeon in 85 & I saw Uli Roth & Accept were supporting.

He had Nicky Samson & few others singing for him. Great show BUT Uli's ego was bigger than the Grand Canyon back then.
He had 2 keyboard players & get this, when it was time for a lone solo spot Uli played a small keyboard as his center piece.
Yes, he can play guitar but as a keyboard player, FORGET IT. (back then)

He really can't sing either.

So VERY true however, dealing with LSD (Lead Singer's Disease) can destroy most projects & bands. Plus Uli may STILL have a HUGE ego, just guessing here about him today.

Gary Moore only sang lead FT after arriving at this conclusion himself. Glenn Hughes was to be his vocalist for Run For Cover & front Moore's band FT but after Hughes drugged on way too many times, back then, it was then that Moore took the role FT himself & never looked back.
