I know Mike has been revamping and revitalizing Randall amps but I didn't know he was putting his spin on the NBKing100. Has anyone seen/heard/played the amp? This has the potential to be awesome.

Where did you read he was going to tweak the NB100?

Fortin had it on his Twitter. Pretty cool he's working with Nuno.
NB King 100 seamed like it missed the mark. Fortin should be able to tweak it just right.

I have yet to actually see one of the Nuno amps in any store.

They're pretty few and far between. I've only seen one at a store in the L.A. area.

I own the half-stack. Love Channel 1 for its Marshall-y crunch but Channel 2 is pretty much unusable to me. Kinda hazy sounding. Every time I'd try to switch to Channel 2 it sounded like a volume drop no matter how much I turned it up.

I wonder if Fortin can mod mine with the upcoming tweaks?

That next Rihanna disc is supposed to be super heavy...gonna need that Fortin edge.

I know the original amp's look was pretty polarizing, but I personally love its VU meter and gigantic master volume knob! :)

I love how these guys come out with their sig amps and hype it up and then end up using something different or getting it tweaked. What was wrong with nuno's ears in the first place?? isn't it the result of him approving proto types? my guess is he prob only worked channel 1 and boosts it with a rat pedal or similar and channel 2 was randall putting in a high gain design.

I don't know much about the original NB100w head (and its been a long time since I researched it) but I thought I read somewhere that it had a solid state overdrive/distortion built in.

He uses the amp for everything he does now. His tone during the last Extreme tour was excellent IMO. I believe he used it on the 2008 tour when I saw them. Typical, great sounding Nuno then too.

I guess he's not too picky because he makes anything sound good.

You can't ask for a much better gig for an 80'/90's rock guitarist, especially since no one is buying rock music anymore.

He's seeing the world, again, and is probably making bank. Then he can fund his living expenses when he gets home to write the next Extreme record that no one will buy. :D

Apparently this is true.

He deserves it!! Thanks for posting.

I don't think anyone can blame him for "selling out" now. Just a few years ago he had a big "sell-off" of his gear on eBay. I think I remember his beloved ebony baby grand piano even sold.
