Just sold some stuff and am looking to purchase one of these three amps. Please provide your opinions, thoughts, etc.

Thx!

buy Kurt's Bones so i don't get the urge! :D

Freidman does some cool stuff, but for my ears i like the Cameron stuff better. the mid focus of the Freidmans i've got to play just wasn't for me, kindda in the same way a Splawn Quickrod is a awesome amp, just not for me.

VH4? haven't been around one long enough to judge fairly. oddly i hated one with winged C's in it, and thought it sounded pretty good with Tung-sol power tubes.

you've got a fuck ton of hot rodded Marshalls, get a Herbert and shake shit off the walls or go for the Bones. or ride it out for a Natas.

the Cornford MK50 II is one bad motor scooter?

Cain't   go wrong with any of those amps

VH4 is heavier  Way more versatile  broader spectrum of tones

Fortin and the Marsha nail the old school Hot rodded marshall tones. Of course with a modern kick and channel options

Good choices for sure all a round

From the clips it seems like the heaviest one is the Bones. I know I'll probably take some heat for this but I had the chance to play a VH4 recently and IMO it seemed to lack a certain heaviness that I expected it to have. Either way I thought it was a great, great amp and one of my favorites  I haven't heard a Fortin (yet) or a Marsha in person so I don't have anything to base my "heaviness" claim on other than clips, which you can't base anything on   I think it would depend on what style you were going after.

Marsha - This is just a damn good sounding amp. If you are looking for a great not good modded Marshall, this is it.
VH4 - I only like a couple of the channels(ch. 2)
Fortin Bones - no experience, but if it is like the Cali mod, I would put it before the VH4

better play a VH4 in person  Massive

4th channel = death metal, Crab core, Death core or Death Crab Metal Core

Doesn't have the mid scoop the Herbert has but just as Heavy

Fortin 'Meathead" sounds just as heavy from the clips or the new Natas from what I hear.

I hear alot of the CCV and the Herbert in each other. I think the CCV does the Marshall style better. But the Diezel has a better Clean sound and the best Heavy tone ever IMO.

Not that the CCV clean isn't killer or it doesn't get heavy. I think both amps are amazing. Just a matter of taste.

But we're not comparing the Herbert and the CCV

  I played one in person, it didn't seem super heavy like I expected it to. I'm not downing it at all, I loved it :inlove: In all fairness I didn't really get the chance to tweek it a lot, if I could've it might have been a different story, I might have been able to get some of that crabcore goodness out of it   . FWIW I had that VH4 tone stuck in head for weeks, it sounded THAT good

Meathead clips sounded like my Engl Savage with more low end.

Zesty Shred

You better post some vids :gethim:

You seem to be quite covered on the hot rod Marshalls, hard to top the ones from your list, so I would say get the VH4. Very distinct flavour, and it would make a great addition to your collection.

Ask SteveK, he has had the Bones and VH4 I think, has the Marsha and it seems like you have the same taste in amps (CCV, Wizard). I would trust his judgement for tone.

Personally, I'd go with the VH4. I'm not downing the others, but they seem more in the modded Marshall teritory, which I like. But the VH4 or Herbert would be much better suited to the type of stuff my band does.

I would nail a VH4 since it looks like your covered well enough in the Modded Marshall land.

The VH4 is an Incredible amp! Has its own thing going on.

Thanks so much for your thoughts guys! I think the Natas might be a possibility as well....

I had a VH4 and sold it when I heard the Herbert. Dont dismiss that as a choice either.
It does WAY MORE then the Metal that everyone thinks. Channel 2 on the Herbert is GOLDEN! ;)
