Thanks guys, it sounds good through my monitors too, so I think it's in the old speakers or even the 20 year old CD player I'm using with them :aww:

Do you guys think there's too much lowend/woofyness, ect, ect? I just burned this clip onto CD via Wave Burner to hear through my old school Infinity SM152's. The results kind of shocked me. Doesn't sound nearly as good. Too boomy, not enough punch, too round and dark. It's so messed up because everything sounds good through these speakers!

I'm wondering if it's Wave Burner degrading the sound quality? I dunno, I'm really sort of a noob when it comes to this stuff. Maybe I'll upload the one on CD and compare them. Hmmmm, that would make sense huh?

Anyway, please let me know what you think/how it sounds on your system and what you would change.

Going to add this to my original post with an update. Really appreciate some feed back

Well on my 3 piece, $20, 5 year old computer speakers it sounds bad ass. Some day i'll get some better ones but I think they sound good. Once you add a bass line maybe a little more high mids/highs would be good. But as of right now it sounds killer.

That sounded awesome! Nice playing and tone.....Well done sir.

I may have said this before but this is now officially my favorite clip you have posted. Wow, does this sound killer!

Thanks a lot guys. I came to the conclusion last night that my monitors are in fact "bright" sounding and the lowend isn't....... low enough, lol. Going to make some adjustments on the monitors tonight.

Thanks again for the feedback guys.

Anyone? Anyone? Comments? Please be honest. I'm really trying to dial this stuff in. Where the hell are you lolzgreg? :gethim:

It sounds really good thru my monitors. I would burn it to CD and play it back thru my car stereo, I remember reading somewhere that Ric Ocasek from The Cars used to do this. If sounds good in the car, you should be golden.

Drums seem to be too loud thru my monitors.....it's like the guitar sound needs to be a little more forward in the mix......great tone though..

I dont hear any woof in there, I've listened to it on my monitors and my regular stereo spkrs. It sounds great. The drums may be just a hair loud, but I would not worry about it until you add bass. I think that amp will have no problems cutting through in a mix, its got killer mids
Your gonna have to reset the levels when you put some bass in there anyway, I'd probably leave a skoosh bit more room for bass by pulling the drums back just a hair when you get it all in there ;)
What mike(s) did you use?
Just curious, I'm trying to figure out what mikes I wanna use to get a clip up, I'm probably just gonna go with a 57/421 combo
That seems to always work for heavy stuff :D

Thanks man. I just used a 57. I used to do the 57/609 thing, but over time I started prefering just the 57 or the combo. I want to get a Heil PR30 though...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree with all of your comments after listening to it in the car.

Word on the street is I have been summoned.

The base of the tone is awesome man... playing is killer too

I wouldn't change anything at all. I think it's going to be perfect when bass is in the mix. Guitars could go up a little.

Sound like you have a compressor on the master bus/drum bus that is kicking back on some of the louder snare rolls/kick hits. See what you can do to try to eliminate that.

More gain couldn't hurt, but you've got a pretty decent amount going on now

I would experiment with your speaker cab to try to see if you can find a speaker that's a little less present around 4khz, and then get the presence and treble a bit higher on the amp.

Cheers,

Greg

You feel the drums are fine Greg? I really feel they sound loose and could be causing what JB is hearing. The tone and guitars is not the problem imo and yeah that would slice through a mix with no problems.

The kick isn't overbearing in the lows. I need to hear it with bass before I can say anything about the drums.

Thanks much Greg, I'll look into all that stuff. As far as the compressor on the drums, i don't have anything added in logic, but there IS a compressor in my Addictive Drums. If it's on or not, I don't know. I'll check that out too.

Thanks again....... Oh, by the way, I was talking to Mike tonight. We were talking about your NATAS and I was telling him how envious I was. So I told him I'd paypal him 20 bucks to give you a titty twister when you're not looking and say, "JB says congrats on the new amp!" He said he'd do it for $30, but we ended meeting in the middle @ $25. :D ;)

Natas?

Old news, had that doorstop forever...............................

Worst amp I've ever heard. I'm actually going to use the transformer set as a $1000 paperweight trio
