I have been looking for a small midi controller. MC6 is at top of list for me, so decided to compare these.

So the fortin copy says this is the “new standard” small footprint midi pedal which got me very excited but this is a lot like the randall RF-8 universal midi pedal that existed and seems to be FAR less capable than morningstar mc-6.

It Looks like hydra is 8 buttons of PC changes and nothing more?!

Morningstar is six button but those six include dual button presses for seven more totalling 12 patches at your feet.

Mc-6 also does:

30 banks with 12 presets each, and each preset capable of sending up to 16 different MIDI messages and functions, Easy to edit using standalone, or with the PC/Mac Editor.
USB CLASS COMPLIANT, PC AND CC, With MIDI over USB, 2 EXPRESSION INPUTS.

The fortin ships at $270 on reverb the mc-6 at $259.

This is a no brainer for me and I cant see anyone buying the fortin that is well versed in midi.

Am I missing something? No manual was up. What do you guys think? Looks great for the Luddite otherwise crippled and expensive to me.

It looks like it would be incredibly difficult to stomp on the back row of switches without hitting the switches in front the way it’s laid out.

Funny you say this. I has bigger hiking shoes on last night and had a bear of a time with my pedals haha. That may ne an issue for sure. The stagger may help a bit tho. The unit is approx 10”x 4”.

This was my concern with the MC6 as well. I am clumsy AND I sing/play guitar at the same time. I do not have time to be cautious. I have the Hydra inbound to use with my Gemini

Yea - I think the buttons are too close together and I think it's a bit pricey? Also it states it's "proudly made in North America." Is that their way of saying it's made in Mexico?

I’ve been curious about this too. Seems odd not to list a specific country of manufacture. There’s over 20 countries in North America. Perhaps they are splitting manufacture between Canada and the US so they don’t specify?

All three Fortin pedals I have shipped from Paducah, Kentucky.
