I’m a retired cardiac surgical nurse. Most people die from gunshot wounds the head. That’s just not how shit works. When you get shot, the body goes into shock, and into fight or flight mode diverting all resources to the brain. Adrenaline has kicked in causing blood pressure to skyrocket and thus all the blood is headed to the brain. … and right onto the floor.
TV has ruined the world for reality.

Sure. It’s the fastest way to turn the lights off for sure. Not due to blood loss though. The fastest way to turn out the lights via blood loss is multiple large holes to the upper thoracic cavity.

Most people are shot in the head with a larger projectile than a .22. And there’s also not an over abundance of data on how long it took them to die. More than a few have survived head shots with large caliber projectiles too. Placement matters.

Anyway, I’m no biologist. I’ve seen people shot in the head though and I think the lucky ones are shot with a large enough bullet to allow profuse blood loss and swift shut down. The ones who’s head fills up with blood probably have it worse I’d think.
