X-Load LB-2 Reactive Load Box @ 8ohms
$399

How interesting!!!

"It is important to note that the X-Load LB-2 does NOT simulate the characteristic sound of a loudspeaker. "

"The “UK” setting is characteristic of the typical British guitar speaker, while the “US” position replicate the lower resonance of a typical American guitar speakers."

People are dumb.

Oh Snap! it's on! but who cares.. real mics are where it's at!

.. only if you cheap-out and use components that are not correctly rated or scaled properly.

Eh, doesn't offer anything others in the market don't.

In their defense I think it’s just catch all legal language because.......well, people are dumb.

Only if you don’t read or understand the text. The voicing refers to resonance, not the characteristic speaker sound.

Interesting. I use a Suhr RL with my AxeFxII for Cab sims. Works amazingly well and the ability to add effects, different routing, going stereo (Axe has a L and R input) amps, etc... makes it hard to beat.

I do like 2 types of speakers they used and the switch between them, where the SRL matches a single speaker type with the reactive load bit. But I won't be rushing out to get this, I can't imagine the quality could be any better than the SRL.

What happend with that super realer then real dildo rumour from 2 years ago.

I promised the wife one for her birthday. :scared:

We dont know that.

What Cliff DOES have is an intimate working knowledge of practially all the worlds guitar amplifiers. He knows more about the way guitar power amps react than probably anyone after more than a decade of testing and refining.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is DSP inside and if this thing does a GREAT job of simulating being plugged into a real speaker cabinet.

Dunno.. Judging from the size of the enclosure (which dictates the scale of components inside), I think it would be a bad idea to run a 100W amp on 10 thru this thing.

These manufacturers tend to go the cheap route on their reactive loads...

.. for example, gut-shot of the two notes.

Whatever everybody's opinion is of FAS and this product, one thing you simply can't accuse FAS of is using cheap parts. They never do.

The 100w limit might be something as simple as heat, IDK. It's a passive device, no fan.

I was wondering about that also.

I wonder if it's any good... :checkthisout:
Pete Thorn has one...I noticed it sitting in the background of his UAD Ox demo. I asked him about it and he said it's good.

But yeah...like others have already mentioned, it's probably nothing new to the game.
