Freeway switch, any users?

I have a PRS with the rotary switch, and I'm not a fan. I like the coil splitting options so I'm mulling over installing a different switch, but I'd like to try to fit it in the rotary hole instead of cutting out for a blade. So I'm looking for something like a 5-way and find this 9 way Freeway switch. Has anyone used this or can recommend a good Gibson style 5 way?

Ive used the freeway alot, i like them. Make sure you get the newest no route version. Witing can be tricky but they allow for tons on options and a stock appearance.

I thought about that, and it might be the easiest option, but I was just mulling over something a little different.

I saw the newer version advertized as not needing any mods, that was important to me. I understand the guys that make them are really receptive to calls and questions about wiring options. I was trying to think of 9 settings I'd use and kept coming back to the std set up, one set of split in phase, and one set split out of phase.

I was also thinking if I put in the 9 way I could install concentric knobs for vol/tone for each pickup. Ultra versatile. Maybe too much.

Years back I used to wire my guitars with a myriad of useful options. I don't think I had any capable of less than ten tones lmao.

The thing is I found that in practice you wind up at favorite setting a and just leave it be. I'd use only one of the dozens of options available.

I guess what I'm saying is yes I agree too many options is a real thing and options you'll never uses re a waste. Now I keep just one guitar wired up for dozens of sounds, it's useful when tracking.

I have a Trans Amber LP Classic with a Doug Aldrich P/U set with push pulls on the tone controls only for series/parallel and 1 K OHM volume pots from Torres Engineering, I find parallel useful for clean sounds and dirty sounds on the neck pickup, split coil is too noisy, but one pickup out of phase with the other would be cool, but I don't want to hack in another switch to do it (Peter Green/Gary Moore). Just my .02 .
