For home use, what's the best option?? I can get somewhat loud at home at times, but mostly lower volume. I currently use an RP1000, and 2 Marshall 1×12's with G12T-75, and G12K -100, and am buying a Kemper rack to use with my Carvin TS-100 power amp as early as next week. Using the cab Sims yields thicker tone, but not sure if it's my cabs, or inferior models of the RP1000 that I just can't stand. Digital/fizz city.

What's the better route?? Suggestions on possibly changing speakers, or FRFR? I thought of trying CL80S in my cabs as well.

Keep in mind, I don't need powered speakers, as I have the all tube poweramp.

i had a kemper with a 2:50 a mesa 4x12 w/ g12k-100's. it was a beast. make my other guitarists stiletto 2x12 combo sound like dogshit :D

i'd say get better cabs, mesa thieles or a 4x12, and you won't have the digital fizzy shit with the kemper. its high end-y. the pr1000 is probably fine, but not in the same class as something like a kemper or axe fx.

Yep, Thieles were certainly a consideration. Had two of those, dumb move selling!

I run a Xitone FRFR and a EVH 412 with my Axe Fx 2 and Matrix GT800. The Xitone I run IR sims and the EVH 412 is run out another output dry. Best of both worlds and allows for utilizing the IR's to blend/craft the sound that you are after.

The IR's and modeling is so good that the Xitone will sound identical to the real EVH 412 if I use the 5153 cabinet IR in the Axe FX. Also, the Xitone 112 cabinet will blow away a real 412 sound/volume wise. Basically like running 2 real 412 cabinets.

Hope that helps.

It's alot of Greek, but I get the gist. I want to run a true stereo setup through my Carvin TS100. I'm all for keeping with 112 cabinets. I guess that's what I'm fishing for... upgrade guitar cabs, or jump to something like a couple Xitone 112s and cab sims of the Kemper.

Go with the passive Xitones. Mick will hook you up. To me these are the flattest most realist FRFR monitors out there. Had the Atomics, Matrix, etc and the Xitones sounded like real guitar cabinets when the correct IR's are run. You might also want to try out the new Friedman FRFR cabinets as well.

Again I run FRFR and traditional cab's at the same time in stereo. Best of both worlds......

I think if you are using a profiling amp like the Kemper, you are probably best to go with some type of FRFR cab. If I ever go the modeller/profiler route again, I'll grab one of the new Friedman units.

They have non-powered, and I can use my Carvin TS-100, no?

Passive = non-powered
So, yes, using your power amp, the Kemper, and some passive cabs would be a way to go.
With the 1X12's you should be able to get some nice stereo separation.
Regardless of your cab choice, the Kemper should NOT be fizzy.
You may want to check out some profiles for purchase and /or make some of your own.
Of course there is Rig Exchange as well...

Good Luck. When you have it up and running, let us know what you chose and how you like it.

In the RP, you could dial some fizzyness out by carving out some high with the eq.

Yes, I sure do. I run another EQ in the loop as well.
