voice coil locked up on a Green Beret. had one in with some Chinese Greenbacks, was running two 16ohm cabs with a Elmwood M90.

You're at least the 2nd one here to blow a green beret...I mean the speaker.

Thisd was my main concern with these warehouse speakers... how well will the voice coils hold up under use? It wasnt worth the risk to me.

that was something that concerned me too. I swapped out the warehouse speaker that came with my Grendel deadroom and haven't looked back

Rusty trombone lessons.

No problem. But being completely serious...you're at least the second person to mention this problem with a Green Beret in the past few weeks.

yep, i kindda put this out there as a PSA.

at 20 or 40 bucks they were maybe worth a shot, especially on a tight budget. but ain't worth a shit if they take out your amp!

I traded my 2 Veteran 30's for 1 Weber 1230-55. I now have 2 1230-55's loaded in a Port City Waves 2x12 and HOLY SHIT BALLS does it sound great. :D

I've got four in a 4x12... I'll see how long they last. Haven't put an amp on them yet, just the Axe-FX Ultra through a solid state power amp.

I'm officially paranoid about putting the British Leads I have in a cabinet now :scared:

I've had four of them in an old Marshall 4X12 for about 6 months and haven't had any problems yet......*keeps fingers crossed*

If one of them went out in a 4X12 being powered by a 100 watt head would I notice right away or is this something I'd have to listen closely for and then notice when my head blew up?

I don't feel an urgent need to replace them at this point and love the way they sound, switching to celestion greenbacks is not something I'd be looking forward to at all (mainly due to the $$$ not anything against Celestion).
