oh man, try some gold lion kt77 first. it changes your deizel to a smoother freq. curve, a little less fizzy. your diezel can do those tones with ease. see quick clip with iphone to give u an idea.

Hmm, quite convincing!

Guys...I'm not trying to compare the two at all.
Diezel has its place and I will always play them.

Something about the be-100 crunch yesterday just blew me away yesterday.
I think it was the difference in the gain structure, it's alot more hairy than the Diezel, and had a certain thump to it that I'm getting more and more attracted to...

Somehow I always wanted in a Diezel what the modded Marshalls kinda have. Never found it...
Get that Friedman, and i'm sure you are gonna get bored with whatever else you have ;) That being said, I just put an order on the D-Moll. I hope it will mix well with the Gower in a studio for a fat complex sound.

Havent had the BE but have had a few modded Friedman marshalls.. one was amazing..one had too much floor noise and some popping issues.. but both did have that 'thump' and just enough darkness to the mids that still kept it marshally, articulate, and harmonic. While some amps have that dry percussive thump.. the Friedmans have that warm, just saturated enuf THUMP. Definitely one of the best amps Ive owned... and I've heard that the BE100 has the best of the best Friedman features and tones. Don't blame you for gassing

Jesus. I'm actually thinking of selling anything I can to get one now.
It's like crack.

The BE100 is the only amp that interests me these days. That's the only reason I'm selling one of my SLO's...to get a BE100!

Is Mark's stock or has it been tweaked???

the search this thread prompted me to now has me gassing for a Naked

Is that picture in your avatar Starved Rock State Park?

I would love to get a BE-100!!! That will be my next amp if I get sick of the Atomica and CCV, which I do not think will happen anytime soon!!!

yessir. just went with my lady friend about a month ago. it was better in the winter with less people and some intoxication. just to the right of the frame there was a huge Husky flopping around in the lagoon muck while his owners helplessly tried to call him back.

Thinking of sending my 1987xl in for BE conversion , good thing I live no where near LA or would have already shipped it..

Might have to take a ride with the wife and kids this weekend. ;)

jealous. i hear there's a better spot nearby, can't remember the name of it though

I too, GAS very hard for one of these! Can anyone confirm the ability to pull some stock or close-to-stock 800 tones out of this amp?

I've found it impossible to get it to sound that bad ;)

Seriously, if that's what you want, just get the Marshall. The BE can certainly get close, but it has its own voice and will always have a much tighter low end.

No no no, don't get me wrong, I adore that tone and it is certainly what I want, I'm just trying to get a handle on the BE or C45 with the gain dialed back.

It's not a JCM 800 type tone, more Plexi tone with the gain dialed back.

Didn't you get a DS 1/2 stack?

Step away from the platinum Amex... Slowly...

Me too... I'm struggling with the idea of selling my original '64 Vibroverb to get one. I think the 'verb's losing this one...

Kind of a strange juxtaposition... But the new firmware release for the Axe-II definitely delivers, and I've been STUCK on the HBE amp > simple delay > 4x12 loaded with low watt vintage cones. Daaaaaaaaaaayuuuuuuum, is this what the HAIRY BROWN EYE sounds like?? Cuz if so - dammit - ya, this is on my growing GAS list like none other.

I actually scouted for this thread Reza as I saw a day or two ago and didn't think much of it. Just thought, "aw, that's just Reza getting older"  But seriously, I'm throwing down hard with the patch, and I'd imagine the real deal is even better. Mark, Rob - I may have to give you a call to "discuss".

Hell yeah!!!
Mojo
