2015 Friedman BE-100 in excellent shape.
This one has a mostly stock circuit. I made very minor tweaks to the internal voltages at the HBE and V1A plates to add some clarity and punch. The 500pf snubber on the V2A plate resistor was removed to open up the sound a bit.
All coupling caps have been updated to Synergy mustards. All peaker and snubber caps have been updated to Vishay 562’s. Same as on current production amps.
A 3 way structure switch was added, which I labeled Drive.
3 way bright switch added. Center is off (stock, no cap) left is a small bright cap and right is a larger one.
I also changed FAT, C45 and SAT.
FAT is less boomy and much more useable.
C45 is more aggressive and tighter when engaged.
SAT is re-voiced for more clarity.
All the above switches are the exact same as stock when in the down (off) positions.
I removed the loop on/off switch and re-purposed it into a mid-boost switch. I never turned the loop off so didn’t see a need for the switch.
NFB and Depth controls added in the original line out holes.
I remote-mounted the tone stack onto the pots, away from the cathode follower for less noise.
All tubes have been tested. Has a quad of Apex matched JJ EL34’s.
No obvious blemishes I can find. The faceplate seems to have a slight bend in it that I can only see from a distance at the right angle. I just tried to find it when taking pics and couldn’t see it. You probably won’t see it, but I need to mention it.
It’s a very clean, serviced and tuned BE-100. With the rear panel switches all down, bright switch off and drive switch on highest position, it’s basically a stock BE100 save for slightly higher voltages internally.
I didn’t demo the clean channel, but it works as it should and sounds great.
Foot switch has some cosmetic blemishes, but included. I don’t have a cable for it, just switch. Any TRS cable will work.
$2250 shipped Venmo or Zelle only. Or cash local for a better deal. Pricing this decent for the holidays.
