Looking to buy an EL-34 amp very soon and narrowed it down to these two. Anyone out there have experience with both? I'm leaning towards the Lynx because I can pick one up for $1,700. I've always wanted a BE-100 but is $2K more than the Lynx. I'm looking for an amp with good, fat sounding cleans and a drive channel that is great with a guitar's volume pot (Black Stone Cherry to AIC to Zep).

Appreciate any input guys. Thanks!

Not to take anything from the Brown Eye,but I think
your going to get bang for the buck with the Lynx

I think the BE-100 is an amazing amp! I own one and have never tried the Bad Cat. There are a lot of other amps to consider as well...

It all comes down to how much you want to spend on the amp, because I think the Friedman is really really hard to beat

KS = Kitchen Sink. Refers to a Marshall that's been modded by Friedman to have the Brown Eye, Hairy Brown Eye, and various other tricks. $2k used would be about right.

I kinda want a Bad Cat 4x12, and I don't know why.

I agree. I've owned both. I sold both... I MISS BOTH!!!

OK, I bought a Bad Cat Lynx with matching 4x12 USED for $2500... I paid more than that for my old 50 watt Marsha with BE/HBE/JBE/C45/SAT/FAT/simple clean and loop. The ONLY problem I had with the Lynx is that it didn't have an FX loop. Other than that I absolutely loved it. I still have the BadCat 4x12 loaded with BadCat modified V30s. The ONLY reason I sold the Marsha was the fact that I couldn't get around the simple clean.

The Lynx is definitely more bang for your buck.

If you find a Lynx with an effects loop let me know... LOL...

Which amp had a chewier sound? Which amp was darker?

It's always been my GO TO for anything that requires a lot of volume. Those speakers in it have been in and out in different cabinets too. My favorite speaker ever. The cabs weigh about 100lbs and will last FOREVER!

Good to know, There was a guy in here that posted some info on different amps
he jammed on and he always commented on how the Bad Cat 4x12 gel'd with every amp he tried

...or pick up a KS for around 2K
Yeah, it can be hit or miss though. My ks was noisey as all hell, my be 100 is ultra quiet even with gain maxed.
