Ok y'all... took WAY too long to get this up but here is the first of my Butterslax "Full Mix" clips. This is Channel 2 on all guitars and technically all the same settings. Used different Celestion Official Creamback IR's (m65/h75) for the guitars.

Here is the full chain used:
• Friedman Butterslax (Channel 2)
• PRS SC245 (57/08 pickups)
• Mammoth San Dimas (Duncan JB)
• Ibanez BTB Bass
• Two Notes Torpedo Studio
• Celestion G12M-65/G12H-75 IR's
• Steven Slate Platinum 4 Drums (Metal 6 kit)
• Waves CLA Vocals
• Logic Pro X
• Focusrite Clarett 8Pre
• Blue Mic's "Bluebird" for my vocals

Big thanks to my guest vocalists: Holy-Diver and AjaxLepinski (GAB)

Absolutely ZERO backing tracks here. ALL tracks performed by "yours truly... The Khed" - drums were hand programmed by me. Everything else was performed live. Vocals were actually a first take rough pass but thought they came out pretty good, AND I learned how to do that reverse reverb vocal effect finally!

Anyway, HUGE thanks to Steinmetzify for getting the Friedman ball rolling and YUUUGE thanks to Rob at Tone Merchants/Friedman. Got a few more vids of this guy coming so be on the lookout. Hope you all dig it and thanks for humoring me with the vids.

That is sick!!! I used to listen to that song all the time and I wouldn't have known that was not Anthrax playing that.

Awesome job man!

Hey I appreciate that! Hopefully this shows something different than the other Slax demos out there.

Nice tight right hand there!
Thanks Ford! Quad tracked as well!

I have at least 2 more vids coming. One is a Ramones song and the other is a quick mell-death type ditty.

If y'all haven't subscribed yet, don't be shy!

Nice job man! That Butterslax Two Note Studio combination is calling me...

Really good dude, you know how to set an amp my friend!
So many people use excessive bass, and killer playing by the way!!

Dude, that was killer. Those guitars sound bad ass!

SO much want. Amazing tone and solid playing!!
Cheers man! Thanks! Such a monster amp for sure.

Thanks! I almost pulled the vid down to add some bits of me singing as some buds on another forum asked why I left those bits out. I never got around to recording vids for the vocal parts. It got impatient and wanted to get SOMETHING up for Rob being so cool about sending me this guy to check out in the first place. Like I said in the OP, took way tool long to even get this guy up.

I should have 2 more vids up soon!

Thanks my friend! Yeah the Slax and Studio are like some damn chocolate and peanut butter! I am consistently impressed with the Studio. Made offing my modelers (which I did use for recording) a MUCH easier decision.

Glad you dug it! It took me a long time to accept that recording guitars multi tracked and dialing in tones for Live use are not the same! I'm still not quite where I want to be when it comes to overall production but I like to think I have a pretty good ear for BAD tone so I just use that as my benchmark for dialing stuff in. The next vid is going to be the Slax running with single coils.

Yeah, that sounds awesome!!
Thanks man! Like I said when I did the full playthrough vid, I was actually kind of nervous to demo this guy as some of the other vids I had seen were not really showing sounds I tend to use. Not that they sound bad, just isn't a lot out there except the vids from our boy Brandon White that are more like what I dig. I was pleasantly surprised with how versatile the amp is.

peterc52":3bcoywjp said:
You should do a Mastodon track :)
Lol! You know, I purposely did NOT do anything from them OR anything too doing/sludgy as my goal was to do a few vids showing something different from this guy. I REALLY wanted to do "March of the Fire Ants" as that was the song that got me into Mastodon but Bill already has cool vids up. I think I've narrowed my Friedman GaS down to the Slax. Was thinking about a JJ or Small Box but now that I am editing down the vids and hearing how different the amp sounds from song to song, it's hard to NOT want it.

Thanks Bubba! It was such a fun amp to record with. Also, not sure if you saw my "in-room" vid when I was in not but a dress shirt and towel but MAN is the amp LOUD!!! Tone for days though. Killed through my Marshall cab loaded w/K100's.

Jer that sounds amazing. I'd love to see some pics of that San Dimas you're playing.

BRUH!!!!

That was awesome!! Great playing and killer tone!!
Great job on everything man!!

Enjoyed that, love that butterslax, it's something special

That sounded terrible and the playing was mediocre.

Thans man! Sure, here are some pics. Also, this is a Ron Estrada (BC Rich Custom Shop guy) build.

Thanks man. It is a killer amp for sure. I'll definitely be grabbing one sometime before the end of the year. Like I said above, your in-room vids are closest to anything I would dial in that I have heard on the current vids of this amp.
