I told you all, I can't judge an amp until I play to a backing track.
If you watch my videos I don't do well playing chords and lead at the same time, I can't truly play until I am just winging it to a backing track.

Today I got home from work, plugged my 2024 Gibson SG 1961 VOS in to my Friedman JJ Jr. Combo that arrived yesterday and went for it.
I know this is a rock amp, my first demos and videos said it is mainly a rock amp compared to my other two Friedmans (Little Sister and Pink Taco V2), but I had not had a chance to try the JJ Jr. in a mix.

So I went for it, first to a Rock and Blues Backing track and then to a Country backing track.
On both videos I go through all the channels from high gain to clean, yes I even played it clean and liked it.

The JJ Jr. is definitely growing on me.
I am sure it will be a keeper along with the Little Sister and Pink Taco V2.

If I add a JEL-20 Head I think I will be done with amps for a long while.

Here are the videos:
Sorry for yelling at the dog at 2:00 of the Country Video, he was letting me know Amazon was delivered, I feel terrible.

Sounds just fine.
What else are you looking for?

cool leads man, and lead tone. Appreciate you posted a vid, but would really like to hear both together, ie. same amp for rhythm and leads. Maybe record over just a drum track, and then make a vid playing leads over it? You're obviously skilled enough to do both. :dunno:

I actually am not a great rhythm player, but maybe I will try doing something with my looper pedal, but it will be very basic.
At least you could hear the guitar do different tones for rhythm and lead.

It sounds good.
Thanks...
I didn't feel right about my first impressions of the amp when I just demo'd and reviewed it without a backing track.
I don't usually play that way.
Even when I was last in a band or gigged, I rarely played chords, that was the rhythm guitarists job.
I told them, the singer sings, in between vocal lines I throw in a riff, and during musical interludes I will do a lead.
That is my style and how I need to judge an amp.

My AirPods must be getting bad because I couldn’t understand what you were saying and it didn’t sound like you were speaking English.
