So Dave's KS mod for a Marshall JMP has given me GAS, is the C45 option in a 100 watt Marshall still 100 watts? Or is that attenuated to 45 watts?

Thinking of getting KS, fat, sat & gain cut.

Kewl, i think i know what i'm gett'in for X-mas.

If you use singlecoils, definately go with the Fat.

I would leave off the sat unless you are just going for insane gain . The Hbe covers the sat territory only better its tighter than the sat . I never use the sat myself but that is just me

I like "insane,"plus i'm sure you can use it with C45/BE as well.

Get the SAT. It's the best $50 you'll ever spend.

Dave's ks in a jmp is imo THE holy grail tone, I have heard all the big mod guys and this is the ultimate to me.

I agree, the others have their own thing going and sound amazing, but there is something about how Dave can tap into an old Marshall, and not just one or two ways, like 5 or 6 or more and still sound like a Marshall.

All the other builders, to my ear seem to lose the original tone, i got a look at a KS JMP gut shot, it is truly the most amazing work i've ever seen, i gotta have a Friedman JMP.

James, I agree. I just got my 81 jcm800 back from Dave and it may sound better than the 75 superlead head modded that I own. I am looking forward to tonight to gig with it!

Get the Kitchen Sink Mod, ALL mods sound Awesome! I have the BE/C45/HBE, FAT,SAT and EFX Loop put in my 88' Marshall 1987 50wt and its a BEAST! Best damn EFX loop Ive ever played through, on/off and its the most transparent loop on earth! C45 sounds great in the BE or HBE mode, to me its a better solo tone than the BE/HBE! tweek the gain and volume to taste and this amp is very versitile tone machine

I agree, the versatility is impressive for a single channel amp.

I'll contribute to this Freidman lovefest by saying that the feel is what hits me almost as much as the tone...it just feels so chewy and responsive...I feel like every pick nuance comes out of the speakers (which can be bad in my case).

After band practice last week I was too lazy to hook everything back up and just played through my other amp (mark iv)...it sounds great but last night we had our weekly rehearsal so I plugged back into the marsha and boom...there it was...THE sound.

I'm wanting to ship my JMP to Dave next week, waiting for a return email from him, i'm sure this is peak season for him, he's prolly busy as a one arm paper-hanger.
