Guess what Im wondering is which way to go... Some guys have told me to just splurge and get the new model because they dont have 30 year old components (old JCM's, JTM's etc...). But is it really worth the price difference? Just trying to get some opinions, from the clips i've heard, doesn't seem like there is a ton of difference in tone. I already own a Pink Taco, but judging on how awesome that amp is, I figure its big brother must be that much cooler, plus I really could use a clean channel. There is also the option of finding a good head to run with it for cleans.... Decisions decisions.... lol!! Anybody have an opinion to chime in with?

Does dave do a checkup on the rest of the amp when he mods? To make sure filter caps etc... are in good shape?

new. mods are used amps for people on the budgetele. go for new, new caps, new tubes....

Get a new BE-100, they are available now and mods could take months probably. With the new BE you get all the features, full clean, loop, footswitchable be/hbe and everything is new and don;t have to worry about maintenance issues.

Im looking at an already modded amp, so the wait time isnt an issue... I guess I would think that Dave would make sure the rest of the amp is in good working conditon? Or am I wrong? The particular one I am looking at was odded 3-4 years ago

As above - I would highly recommend the new BE100. You wont regret it

Its just hard to justify $3600 lol, but I want one bad enough... guess I have alot of thinking to do

again, "mods are used amps for people on the budgetele" the amp is 3-4 years old and parts have time on them. new is the only way to go, else why ask?!??

as grandpa always said..."you buy cheap, you GOT cheap" 'nuff said.

both are great options…..you can't go wrong with any of Dave's work. I have had a new BE and KS modded JMPs…..all were great!

Just pulled the trigger on a Friedman modded 1981 Jcm800 2204!! Hope it works out!!

Did you grab the one tonefinger was selling? If so, that's a great sounding amp.

Post some clips when it arrives - would love to hear it!

LP Freak - Yes I did, used the clips that you two put up on youtube to sway my decision, was going to buy a new BE, but couldnt resist! And now I can use the extra dough to pick up some other stuff, thinking the new Boss ME-80 possibly...

I dont have a great method to post clips, but I have a few amps id like to post clips of... My splawn modded 1987x might hit the market if this thing rocks hard enough...

LP Freak - since you've heard the amp in person, how is the low end on that thing? It was hard to tell in the clips, but even my pink taco has a nice bottom end. Not that I play chugga chugga metal lol, but I like a nice full/almost 3d low end.

The bottom sounds great. Tight and focused but not too tight if you know what I mean. Dave knows his shit.

Awesome, Im pumped!! Shipped today, should be here Friday!
