Saw Steve Vai last night, awesome show.

Dave Weiner was playing a Friedman.

Sounded really thick and meaty.

These pictures were from sound check. The PRS rig next to it was his also, but wasn't mic'd and didn't even seem to be on.

PRS and a Friedman (BE 100 ?) seems like a good combination!

I don't see Steve walking away from his signature amps anytime soon.

Hm, that rig look a little spinal tap to me. Vernon Reid syndrome?

Huh? Clean amp, dirty amp, a few rack effects. What's crazy about that?

vai could play through anything and sound great, he does not need a Friedman. Monster player with flawless technique.

Seriously. At the least, hang a black drop cloth over those stools to hide them. It's so unprofessional looking - looks like a set up by a band at the local Irish pub. Steve who? Steve Fish'n'Fries with a pint o' Guiness, thank you very much.

This is the thread where a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, a Grammy-winning composer, producer, and instrumentalist who has played on some of the most famous recordings of the past thirty years, gets slammed because the stools his rack is sitting on look "so unprofessional".

Ahhh, The Gear Page, it's like I never left.

He is one of my favorite players of all time. I love the guy.

But I cannot deny that those bar stools look stupid.
