I have a lot of killer amps that I've been asked to do videos of so I got a new camera for Christmas from the Mrs. This is my first attempt (one time, no edit, clam filled, wanking) with this camera. The sound was slightly thinner and a little edgier than in the room. Seem to be even more evident when I listened to it on YouTube vs on my computer. So what I'm wondering is how people manage to get such great sounding videos?? I'm not a techie at all. So I'm in serious need of counselling in this department. Yes...I know...and in serious need of practice too. I'm old and I don't get a lot of time to practice these day, so please forgive that part.

BTW...details on the Camera and the gear used are on YouTube if anyone is interested.

I'd have a very hard time picking between the two. Ironically, I feel like I can dial in a slightly more "vintage" sounding and feeling tone with the SS than the BE. The BE is super refined, where the SS can be nastier or more raw. Not that the BE can't, but when I'm trying to dial in old school Marshall tones it just seems like I can get there quicker with the SS. The BE on the other hand, is the ultimate hot rod Marshall for me. It's everything I ever wanted in a hot rod and there's just something in its tonal signature that is so appealing to me that no other amp can do better IMHO. I love them both. Those two, my Cameron Atomica and my 72' small box Marshall are my four to the grave amps. Each excels at something slightly different and all are amazing to play and hear.

Sounds F'n great man. Thanks.

Thank you! Had couple questions about how the amp was set in the video and the full signal path. The signal path is detailed on YouTube, but I didn't include the settings, so here are the details:

Presence: 5
Bass: 4
Middle: 5
Treble: 7
Master: 3 1/2
Gain: 7
Loop level: 3

-Amp: Friedman Steve Stevens 100 (SS100)
-Guitar: Mayones Setius 6 (mahogany body & neck, flame maple top, rosewood board) w/ Wagner (WCR) Godwood bridge & Crossroads neck.
-Cab: Mojave 4x12 loaded with Celestion G12H30 Anniversary's.
-FX: 1981 Boss DM-2 delay in the loop
-Camera / mic: Canon VIXIA HF R500

Sounds great!!! Good job. What a sound. Dig it.

Thanks bro! It is a great sounding amp. Hat's off to the tone master, Dave Friedman.

Sounds killer! Definitely a grittier and more woody tone than the BE. I actually prefer this. It's a little less polite, with a little more of a bark to it. Great playing too for an "old guy." ;)

Omg, can it get more brown then that? Sounds frakking awsome! gratz!

Thanks! My son would love this! He's says; "Dad, you're not too bad for an old man, but for a young guy you'd suck!" LOL ...wait...why am I laughing??! ;)

Yeah, I'm not much of a EVH player, but the SS100 begs one to start doing EVH chops when you plug in for sure (even if you don't know any! LOL). Thanks for the kind words!
