Choke is ToneClone by Mercury Magnetics Made in California

LMAO! I'm not a transformer expert and couldn't find any specifics about the transformers on Friedman's site. I heard it was Magnetic Components and Heyboer, but I thought those were both manufactured in China. Good to know it's all USA components.

Heyboer is michigan, magnetic components are Illinois and mercury is California.

So when you post "Made in China" you have to understand that maybe 100 people will see that and not check back in later and start posting all over the web that Friedman transformers are made in China when they are not. That is why Dave responded the way he did. Its cool if you don't know the answer and you are asking but then wait for the answer, to post that is not fair to Dave when its totally wrong. My 3 cents. As you were.

Yup - if you don't know...ask before throwing out some pig slop assumption.

Thought he said Magnetic Components and Heyboer's.

Both made in China?

:gethim: A two second search on Google would have answered this! I Googled "Heyboer Transformers" and right on the home page says Grand Haven, Michigan.

I don't know if any of you realized that I put a fucking question mark. I tried to be cool about his reaction, but I might as well say he was being a dick about it. A fucking question mark means that I was asking you dipshit. Here, I'll fucking quote myself for you. See that big fucking question mark in bold?

I can see both sides to this, but China's not a good word these days and I've never seen the location of the components listed on an amp manufacturer's website. Surely a search would've solved your question a lot more efficiently. I'd probably react the same way if somebody assumed I was using Chinese transformers, just saying...
