Front End Boost Pedal That Doesn't Use Diod Clipping?

I was looking at the YJM isn't it also using diod clipping? I want to get away from any EQ curve that "overdrive" pedals seem to create.

I don't want to shape the tone so an EQ might add another level of complexity when I just want a clean transparent boost to "hot" up my single coil guitars. Preferably thickening things up without adding any distortion

Havent tried it that way way but it has a tone of output on tap. Mix knob seems superfluous, much better dynamics at the 12 volts I am using.

Love the thing, ts808 killer for high gain amps.

Koko boost reloaded - clean boost and mid boost options in a small pedal.

EP Boost - fattens up single coils nicely, but not exactly a flat eq boost.

Cusacks more louder - this one looks about as basic and flat as you want, with and added buffer if you like.

Seymour Duncan pickup booster - this seems to have some subtle tone shaping options.

Fish and chips does it very well extremely transparent and cheap. the only pedal I have kept over the years.

I think the problem is that when you push the front of a tube amp you change the frequency landscape of the amp in general. It's like if you set your amp eq at low volume and then crank the volume in a band setting you're going to hear a significant change. You'll then have to readjust your amp eq settings. I think this is why people like EQ's as a clean boost because they can then bring the boosted signal back to pre boosted amp eq settings.

Eqd dunes will let you run with or without diodes. Great pedal

Good choice, was going to quote and post but you already got it.

Not sure if you have an fx loop but any guitarist who does that has not tried an eq is doing themselves a disservice.

It's running in the front of my Amp at the moment.

Guitar -> Wireless -> Fish n Chips -> JMP-1 -> G-major2 -> EL84 20/20 -> Cab.

I took the Gmajor out of the loop as the JMP-1 FX loop is a bit crap!
