Frustration...buying an amp

Fuck GC, and their used garbage. It's a waste of time, and they started charging a fortune for shipping, in addition to sales tax, so you're rolling the dice. What looks like a deal adds up quick. And, nobody wants to box anything up, (or knows how, for that matter).

I've had better luck with Sam Ash, actually, (albeit through Reverb). Quick shipping, stellar packing, and spotless merchandise on 3 occasions.

Nah, don’t agree at all. You just have to be aware of 2 things:
Buy it immediately if it’s what you want at a good price.
Know that you have 45 days to return it.
If you snooze you lose..and if it’s packed like shit or doesn’t work right just return the damn thing.
Reverb? Full of scammers. Sam Ash? Ha! I saw so many overpriced things from them over the years I laughed my ass off. I’d rather take a chance on a good price at GC vs risk a scammer on Reverb, or overpriced junk at Sam Ash. At least at GC you have no worries getting your money back, and I see decent deals sneak into their used inventory every couple weeks.

Yeah man I had it happen several times actually. The deepest burn was a USA Jackson prototype King V. I owned it for a brief minute but ran into some very costly car bills. I had to return it for the quick refund. Hated to do it but it is what it is. The guitar showed up a year later in their system but someone kept the nice heavy duty San Dimas era case with the Jackson badge. UGH! So speaking with their store manager directly to secure a case for it because they wanted to ship it without one and I wasn't gonna take the chance of it arriving fubar'ed! Heck the wing tips got beat to hell and where chipped from the previous dick that kept the case. This call was on a Friday morning. Left the conversation with the guitar sitting in his office while they get a case to ship a King V. No call back. I called Saturday morning and the pricks sold it! I even ask if I should pay for it awhile and the manger said no need that it was in his office out of the system. Still carry that emotional scar to this day lol. I should have never left it go in the first place but I guess the universe was not finished toying with me!
