:) Picked up a Fryette D120 the other day to go along with my Sig X....

Nice! I prefer the D60 but both are outstanding, as is the Sig. I notice the absence of a D cab though. What's up with that?

Something about the voice of the D120 works a little better for me. Personally I like all the Fryette amps I have played on .... the Sig X and D120 just fit me best.

I do not own a Fryette cab ... it brings me shame. I have been saying for a few years I am going to build several 2x12 cabs and was going to get some P50 speakers for a few. Because of the rain here I want to build something more weather proof for transportation.....

+1 D60

120 seemed a bit much to control on the low end

first time i hit the 60 i instantly heard a young evh trying to escape the speakers. roll off the volume and the clean was nice and useable.

Congrats, I have had my VHT Deliverance D60 2x12 combo for 8 mos now and still love it. Got rid of my JVM , GT8. It can do any kind of music with a few pedals. I run it dirty and use a HBE Paul Gilbert Detox pedal for my clean tones. I kick in SD-1 when in clean mode and I have good blues lead tone. I have BF-2 , HBE CPR, and a TC Flashback and Tc corona all in front of the amp. IT works for me since I used to use Marshall 59 or a Hiwatt Before I got stupid and went rack then modeler then JVM now back full circle single channel tone machine. I think you will like it. Keep us updated. The setting I am using now are G1 3:00 G2 9:00 More on T 10:30 M 11:00 B 2:00
Depth 10:00 Presence 2:00 I get a nice 80' metal tone ala Savatage , Judas Priest, raise treble scorps Ratt etc. I use high output PU's Dimebucker, SH-6 and Blackouts.

Nice....I had the 120 at one time and sold it. I miss that amp. Very dry voicing to my ears, but really cut thru the band but not in an irritating way. Nice amps. TS9 for leads, roll back volume knob for cleans...doesnt get any easier than that!

Now that'll have some thump!

Oh wow, just made my Space Odyssey # post. Open the pod bay doors Hal...you Motherfucker :D

Thanks everyone.... I have wanted one for a long time and was blowing it off.
I turn the master up to 2 o'clock without the Hot Plate for a few minutes. It was louder than I usually play at a gig...

I've never had the chance to play a VHT/Fryette. Would love to sometime. They seem a bit to dry for me, but I bet they would cut through a mix better than most anything else because of that. I'm sure in a band context I'd dig it.

Congrats!

I've always had a hard time figuring how the "dry" term came to be for VHT. I think of them as focused or tight. There's usually not much sag to the low end that can help a note bloom a little, but I don't get dry. I wonder what is considered "wet"

Maybe it has something to do with amps that have a loose bottom are referred to as mushy ?

A looser sound is cool for clean and lead playing .... but I play rhythm most of the time. A tight focused dynamic articulate sound works much better for me with most of the rhythm work I do. Besides I have other amps if I want more of a growl than a bark...

I plugged in both amps into a stereo 4x12 and put a Radial ABY and Fryette SAS out front. It was pretty interesting comparing them this way.
