Just got mine today! It does BEAUTIFULLY as an attenuator, but does so much more, shaping your tone! For those looking for more bottom end, and tame those highs? I literally took my EQ off my pedal board - NO LONGER NEEDED! Leaving the "BRITE" switch flat, and using the presence knob to adjust/cut, it works like a charm. Flipping the "WARM" switch to "DEEP", and bumping up the depth knob, loads of usable, clean, FAT bottom end. Not only is it the best attenuator I've ever encountered, it doubles as a warm, highly effective EQ! I cannot stress how awesome this thing is. I could have saved myself a lot of headaches, a lot of money, and a lot of farting around, buying one a LONG time ago. Worth every penny!
And, YES, I can crank the Runt to about 4-5, get a little power tube thump going, and crank it down to whisper levels with the PS-2. HUGE difference. But, I'm still screwing around with OD's trying to get the right fit, though miles ahead than I was without attenuation. So, as for the Runt, I'm still a little bit on the fence, gain-wise. I could see picking up a $500 DSL 50 or Laney GH50L, crank it up through the PS-2, and probably be just as content. The PS-2 is the game changer I've needed years!
