Fryette Power Station, they did it.

Same basic idea as the Bad Cat Unleash, just using a tube power section instead of solid state. I use the unleash at home every night and love it. I am interested in this unit too though. The tubes are a great idea for the power stage for sure.
 
I just tried mine out the other day,it sounds awesome slaving my variac plexi on 10..I have tried a lot of different amps to slave with and I have to say the power station with its built in load sounds among the best if not the best I have tried..
 
Anyone here order out of the first batch and want to post a vid?

Really thinking about picking this up, seems pretty perfect

I had an Unleash, very cool product. Added a loop to a Cameron Aldrich I had. But the solid state aspect took away some of the 'bite' of the amp..so I sold it. But this product, with tubes...hmmmm...does it have a loop like the Unleash?

Yup. Killer product.

They may make more on this than any amp. Time will tell but I sure would love one.
 
Very interested in this unit. Any idea the release date and street price?

I have a vox ac50 that I always wished had an effects loop, so this would be perfect...

I figured it would be around that price. I see they are already sold out of the first batch. At $600, I may be better with a used Mesa ta 15 for my low volume needs.

I wish the unit had a half power switch or something to that effect, still looks tough to control at low volumes.

I did hear a tone change in the video, mainly more compression, but that is to be expected.
 
Several people have said it sounds good at TV volume.
 
Really would like to try one of these. Every Fryette product I've owned has been nothing short of excellent.

What do you guys think: how about just using a THD Hotplate and plugging the line out into a tube power amp? Should work, or not?
 
This is really a great product, I got mine last week and love it. Playing it with my Friedman dirty shirley I can get the exact same sound and feel when i have both set at the same volume and I go from bypass to attenuate. As far as TV volumes yes it can do this, but you really lose the speaker response that you get with a cranked amp when you attenuate this low. Amps will always sound better loud. What this product will do is allow you to play a cranked amp at any volume, but it definitely sounds best when using it to just knock off a few db's so your speakers are still moving air, but not blowing your eardrums out. I'm not yet into the daw/IR world yet but plan on trying that out in the near future. I think that will be the best way to get a great cranked sound at low volumes as you'll get a simulated cab response if that makes any sense.
 
I'm also looking forward to curing the problem with the MV on some amps going from zero to ten with a fraction of a turn.
 
very cool and for not much $$$ .This would for sure solve a lot of amp in the room complaints from modeller guys too..

Smart move covers a lot of players ,,a game changer for sure

I have done it many times..... Works great.
